"SONY BRAVIA KDL-46S4100" on by jjbarber

Pros: Nice screen, motion flow, 3 HDMI, 1 PC, small boarder

Cons: 60MHZ, no PIP, off center inputs, cheap remote

Summary: This TV for the price can't be beat. The picture is beautiful and brilliantly bright. LCD is wonderful for rooms that pack in sun light. The piano gloss black finish is sexy and the design will stay in style for years.

The 60MHZ with motion flow is wonderful in my opinion however, I am sure some tv tech savvy individuals reading this are steaming. 60MHZ, for those that do not know is the refresh rate a tv refreshes it's picture. 60MHZ=60 refresh times a minute. The higher versions from SONY have 120, for me this one works just fine. I have 20-15 vision and I have never seen a glitch. Watching the swimming Olympic trials it looked like the pool was in my living room.

If you are replacing a tv like I was be ware that the inputs on this tv are on the far left side. This was a problem for me because the plasma I replaced had them in the middle. My cables were at max so I had to buy longer ones.

Using a SONY Blue Ray player 1080p looked stunning. My cable is 1080i and looks almost as good. (P) = Progressive Scan, (i) Interlaced

No picture in picture I see as a con, however on my other tvs I never used and could care less. I rather watch one game on a beauty like this that sacrifice resolution and screen size. The remote is a bit on the cheap side. When you buy a nice tv you want a fancy remote, just like buying a nice car, you know its coming with some type of computer cheap enhance key with lots of buttons and lights, something lacking on the SONY.

Overall a killer deal, my hats off to SONY for making their technology more affordable. I cannot justify paying $800 more for 120MHZ, standing in the store I saw no visable difference. If you do, well upgrade!

Bottom line, its a SONY, and something you will rarely read about their products is that it is an affordable one! You will not be sorry with this tv. I bought mine at Circuit City for $1599

    "Sony Bravia KDL-46S4100
    Awesome LCD"
    on by david4152709

Pros: Picture quality is A1.HD1080P is impeciable.
Sound is great. Ease of use is great. I have my pc hooked through the Sony.
Awesome.PC has HiDef Video Card .Plenty of HDMI inputs.
Just a good all around LCD TV.What else can you say its a Sony.

Cons: Manual Controls on the top of TV
The TV could have the side bar manual easy touch controls like the Samsung.

Summary: The Sony Bravia KDL-46S4100 over all is a great TV.
I had to give it 5 stars becuase of the pictue quality,Sound quality and the ease of use.Asfar as price I bought the Sony Bravia KDL-46S4100 total price including shipping for $1079.00 what a deal

"Good value for the price" on by Hootster413

Pros: Picture Quality, number of HD inputs

Cons: No swivel base, no sim surrond sound, no headphone jack on side

Summary: This is Sony's entry level 46" LCD, however, the picture quality is quite close to other brand sets in this price range. The set design is very nice, it has a shiney black frame with a silver strip at the bottom edge. HD and Blue Ray pic quality is excellent. Standandard definition picture quality is very good. Remote is easy to use but is not backlit. Menu structure is easy to use but does not have as many picture adjustment options as the Samsung. It is very easy to adjust the screen brightness using the power save function for late night viewing in a dark room.

"only lasts 18 months" on by drewchris4

Pros: picture was fine for 18 months

Cons: Picture has been progressively getting darker and lasting longer once set has been turned on.
Picture takes 2 hours to be clear.
Sony only stands behind product for one year. Better off buying cheaper brand and paying for extended warranty.

Summary: Called Sony to see if there was anything they could do for this problem. They wouldn't.
DO NOT BUY SONY!!! This is coming from a former long time Sony customer.
They aren't what they used to be, don't be fooled like I was.
