"Best HDTV for the First-Time Buyer"
Pros: meets all the video and broadcast standards for the next 8 years, at low price, with a high quality brand name
Cons: Lacks Sony's Motionflow? 120Hz
Summary: I did extensive research in HDTV before purchasing this. I only move into a new technology once the standards are supported, the key features have been tested, and the prices have become "stable." I then purchase on Quality, Longevity and "Real" Features. In HDTV this equates to features visible by average eye, and features that are not rapidly out-dated. If you share the same philosophy, then this is the right 46" HDTV. It will support all your needs until 2014. It meets the current EDTV and HDTV broadcast standards(480,720p,1080i) and supports future 1080p format that will take you well into the next decade.
