Cons: What? There are NO Cons!
Summary: If you have been considering any HDTV, this is the one to buy. Some say it is not as good as the Pioneer Plasma; I say it is a draw. I like the LCD beter because there is no glare like on the plasma. I have it in a bright room and see no glare. The 170 plus degree viewing angle is great. The colors are so absolutely amazing. The brightness and contrast are pefect. I compared this side by side to the XBR4 and the W3000 is noticably better in all aspects. I asked the salesman why, he said the XBR4 on paper is better, but even he agreed with me - that the quqlity of the picture is better. You go see and do a side by side and I will be surprised if you don't agree. I unpacked the TV, with help from my wife, set it on the cabinet, pluged in the cable from my antenna in the attic, plugged in the power cord, put batteries in the remote, turned it on, did a channel scan, and got 12 HD channels over the air in the part of the country where I can only get 3 analog standard signals with the same antenna. All 12 were perfect. And WOW; after I got my satellite HD service hooked up...., I keep asking why did I wait so long for HDTV.
For the past 18 months, I have been studying all the pros and cons and reading all about the other expert and user opinions as well as Consumer Reports. With all my home-work, I kept coming back to the SONY line. I was convinced the 2006 XBR2 was the best, until the 2007 models came out. I went to the store to buy the 2007 XBR4 46 inch model, and when I saw the W3000... I was convinced this was mine. I have now hade it one month and could not be happier with my choice. I keep going back to the stores to buy ohter itmes for my home theater and stop by the displays to look. I do not regret this purchase because the SONY W3000 it is still the best LCD out there. Some advice is not to rate anything with a 10 unless it is perfect... this deserves the perfect rating!
