"KDL46XBR6 after 2 weeks" on by Stan515
Pros: Viewing directly at the HDTV is great. The picture clarity is awesome. Contrast and black controll gives a well defined sharp picture. Color options are good but it took me a while to set color to the picture I wanted to watch.
Cons: I have to be carefull cleaning the screen, and I have left instructions for my family.
Setting the color is a pain. Changing cable input to HDMI on the back requires the picture color to be set again.. Viewing angle is closer to 90's.Summary: 2 week review. First, I tinker with things until I get them the way I want them, drives my wif e crazy.
4 monthe review.
2nd the TV was priced at $2999, I bought it for $2499, from local dealer. The best price I could get for KDL46Z4100 was$2299, so I picked the XBR6.
I replaced a KDL34 HD VEGA. (TUBE TYPE that had a great picture.)
I had trouble getting the picture color set. And it took a several attempts to get the picture I wanted to view. I adjusted the "color temperature" to Warm 1 and set the "Color space" to wide.
I am now used to the picture and haven't changed the color in a week.
I am amazed at the color depth, contrast, black , and detail when I watch anything on HD. Even digital HBO looks great.
The inputs on the back of the TV are easy to read
The SONY TV remote is confusing at times and getting to the correct menu can be tricky without the manual. I put the SONY remote away and I'm using the DVR remote at this time.
I like the black frame around the TV being smaller. As a result, the TV doesn't look as big.
I'd like the viewing angle to bigger. I mean the picture looks very average from the side, greater than 90's. and can be misleading. My chair is now in "front" of the TV.

Nothing new to add, and there are no new bugs to discuss.
I forgot to add this to the original review. I'm sitting in front of the TV about 15 feet away from it, and used to sit about the same distance from the side.
Updated on Mar 25, 2009I made it clear the viewing angle is closer to 90" than 180. I was WRONG.
I had the brightness set too high, almost at max, and I turned it down to 85%.
After I lowered the brightness, any chair in the room can used to watch TV. Some are at 90' to the TV. -
"The best I've seen so far!" on by chief1450
Pros: It's as close to perfect as you can get. It even looks great setting in a room when it's turned off. Easy set up and easy to use menu. The sound is better than what I've heard on other sets.
Cons: None so far.
Summary: I've been looking for a LCD for about a year. The ones that I really liked hoovered around the $3000.00 range and I decided to wait on one I could buy in the $2000.00 range. I was in Sears 3 weeks ago and they had this model on display and it blew me away. I've always liked the Sony brand but their top end LCD TVs were more than I wanted to pay plus they were butt ugly. The older model XBRs have the big wide frame around the screen with that stupid looking piece of glass sticking out even further. When I saw this model, not only did the picture look fantastic, the set was very pleasing to look at. Sears was running a sale price of $2299.99 and the sales person said if I used a Sears creit card they would drop the price down to $2069.99. I jumped on it and so far I think it's one the best buys I've ever made. Watching a NFL Game is like being on the field with the players and a blue-ray DVD movie is amazing.
When I bought my XBR6 the salesman said if they lowered the price within 30 days after my purchase I could get a refund in that amount if I brought in my receipt. Well they lowered the price by another $200.00 and I got a refund in the amount of $216.00 which included sales tax. The final retail price turned out to be $1889.99 plus sales tax.

"So far so good" on by CUBICHEANGULO
Pros: The picture quality is great with digital signal from DirecTV, and Blu-Ray
Cons: None so far
Summary: I search for approx 4 months before buying this TV, and I liked it more than Samsung for one reason only. The glare of the screen was minimal to none while watching TV in the daytime.

"Best Picture and LED TV I've seen so far. Can't be beat!" on by trouard995
Pros: Gorgeous set and picture. Has wireless internet access. Corning Gorilla glass all the way accross. Wireless and easy to hookup to your network. Also it's a 3D TV. I did not find it very hard to set your settings. I highly recommend it as the best!
Cons: Speaker System
Summary: Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new LED LCD set over any other sets including Samsung! It has just about everything you need and the set and the picture is Fabulous!! I have owned it now for 3 weeks. Out the box set picture to Vivid and setting to General and hit the options key to set picture settings and you are on your way! Enjoy!!

"1 year old and still awesome" on by chugawoo
Pros: Connectivity, PQ, 120hz motionflo
Cons: no OLED tech, SD Picture.
Summary: I bought this last Christmas during a fire sale at 6th ave Electronics. After spending an hour it Circuit City(RIP), I was told they were out of stock. Anyway, It was displayed side by side with a Samsung and the new XBR9(OLED). I have to tell you, I could not tell the difference between them and PQ was phenominal. Being a Sony fan and with competitive pricing, I decided to take it. So far, the PQ has not degraded and with my own home calibration kit(Digital Essentials DVD), I have not touched it since. Directv HD is amazing and DVDs look near HD. PS3 and 360 are crystal clear and my laptop fills the screen brilliantly. If your in the market for a new set and can still land this new for a good $$, get it cause you will not be sorry.
Suggestions> Get Directtv, if you can.Use Sony components to match up(DVD, PS3 etc. Get digital essentials on DVD (Amazon.com) and enjoy.
