  • "Best Price-Performance"
    on by tkwilli

Pros Exception color, contrast, black levels and motion control. Low reflection. Small border. Reasonable sound from built in speakers. Low cost.

Cons No 3D. Need to purchase separate Wi-Fi card. I wished the Sony Logo lit up like on the HX-929.

Summary This TV is unbelievable for the price performance. My model is an EX-621 sold by Costco, but I trust it is the same exact TV as the EX620. In comparing this TV to my XBR-65HX929 (see review), I am shocked that the picture is only marginally less than what I believe is the best TV on the market. At four times less cost, the EX621 does not have quite the facial tones and unbelievable contrast of the HX-929. But believe me, this TV has a fantastic picture. One of the most impressive features is the motion control. Absoluting no distortion for fast moving sports. The only bluring I have noticed is in poor quality video in standard definition. All good source HD signals have no detectable motion blurring. Note: this TV has a manufacture date of March 2011. I have a 46-EX621 hooked directly to the Internet with Ethernet, the 55-EX621 through a Sony Wireless Wi-Fi card and the 65HX929 has a built-in Wi-Fi. All TVs go to the same dLink N router. I do not notice any difference in Internet performance between these TVs. All these TVs are significantly better than my 52XBR3 which I purchased five years ago.

Pros It is a thin sleek TV.

Cons Alot... MotionFlow is messed up, Letters are very pixelated.

Summary So I recieved this TV to replace my 2 month old kdl52w5100 that went. This is a great TV, it looks good... Off. There is something wrong with the MotionFlow compared to my w5100 that had B3 engine. It add alot of blurring in everything, especially in video games. Basically anything that moves is blurry and anything that doesn't tweaks out because the engine is trying to move it but then realizes that it shouldn't.. So your HUD and cross hairs will drag into the background., playing Halo reach will paint the grass blue in cross hair excrement.. This is the first thing I noticed turning this TV on... Brutal Job I must say, this thing is only usable as a 60HZ TV!! I wouldn't pay money for this thing. The Rest: Blacks are Gray and it could be 20% brighter. Don't use the Eco mode, it will shut off your TV while you are watching it because you haven't pressed a button in a while????? Seriously??? There you have it, $2000 of picture frame.
