"Some units defective, loud pop, scary experience"
Pros: Great picture, plenty of options to hook up, perfect for bedroom or smaller room
Cons: Defective pixels in some units, online reports of cloudy background (not in my case), defective power thingy cause loud pop, like a gun, then no response to remote, power buttons, and no picture, although sometimes you still get sound.
Summary: BB is trying to repair my tv, sony won't support claim that it's defective. Basically if you buy Sony, get an extended warranty, or you may get stuck with paying high repairs or worse, not have a functional product. Loud Pop syndrome is described on several other models, so it must be some kind of power supply defect.
