  • "The best i've ever owned."
    on by hollovoid7

Pros Excellent picture quality, despite no local dimming the black level is excellent, and the motion is very smooth, watching sports on this tv is a joy, and has made my home the place to go for bigger events.

Cons The face detection for auto shutoff is neat, but does not work if you are laying down on the couch. I ended up shutting it off. Other than that, only complaint is the internet features work too slowly for me to find them of use.

Summary Was absolutely blown away by this tv, I will have this until it dies.

  • "Great TV Support and Firmware Update for 3D way Behind"
    on by newfords4u

Pros The TV has good 2D upscaling to 3D for standard 2D formats. It will only play 3D games at this time (7/13/10) The glasses for the 3D have auto shutoff face detection. The TV has a picture shutoff if viewer is not in view of sensor(adjustable).

Cons The TV requires a 1.3 compliant HDMI cables which caused me to have to buy new cables. This TV is not capable of a Home Theater System (I have a Sony BDVIS1000 Home Theater and it won't recognize the 3D TV when I am playing games).

Summary I recommend to upgrade to 1.4 compliant cables to avoid a change again soon. This cable includes and ethernet connection along with HDMI. This TV is not capable of being routed through a Home Theater System ( I have a Sony BDVIS1000 Home Theater and it won't recognize the 3D TV when I am playing games). Sony support could not figure out why I couldn't get the 3D to work and a direct connection from the PlayStation to the TV is required to recognize 3D. To get my Home Theater back I had to use a optical cable from the PlayStation to the Home Theater. Then I had to reset the PlayStation to HDMI video and optical audio. This isn't a TV for the novice because Sony doesn't know anything themselves in support for 3D. Its picture is very crisp. It will also do pic in pic for your computer. Its a beautiful piece when its off. Overall I am satisfied as this is an excellant 3D TV and would recommend it to a friend now thats its running.
