Cons: TV remote cannot be used to control fixed audio out or digital audio out volumes. Add on speakers require a separate volume control. Very frustrating.
Summary: Don't be so cheap with the audio out feature, Sony. I expected more from a brand name.

What's frustrating is your lack of knowledge. Fixed audio outs are NEVER affected by the volume control... that's why they're called "FIXED". If it has a "variable" output, that will give you control.
As for digital outputs, it is commonly know that digital signals CANNOT have their volume adjusted- they must first be converted into analog signals, usually done by your stereo receiver.
Your Sony is behaving exactly as it should. Ten minutes of research goes a long way.
