Pros It does measure 32" diagonally.
Cons Quality of Sony products has taken a real dive over the last few years. This TV is another example of what happens when you build to a price point regardless of quality. They should not put their name on crap like this.
Summary I bought this TV and 14 months later the audio amp went intermittent then low. If I set the volume to MAX then I can only hear it when the A/C is not running. Will replace it with some other brand this week. What really ticks me off is that I also have 3 Sony DVD players that have also died within 24 months of purchase as well as a Sony stereo amp that lasted only 18 months. I don't beat on my equipment in case you're wondering... it's just poorly made.
I searched the web for solutions and found others with the same issues with their Sony TV. Looks like I'll be buying another brand of everything in the future.
"my first LCD HD TV"on by king_202
Pros i really love it it has very good picture and very good audio
i has so many inputs
Cons i can't connect my computer through HDMI cable because my laptop don't have it
Summary very good worth buying
Pros Great colors. Deep blacks. cinemotion feature. plenty of controls. alot of hdmi inputs 3. amazing tv for the price. cant go wrong with a sony, had if for 2 months now. not a glitch
Cons Internal sound quality is not so great when people whisper but ok wen turned up about 70 percent to 80 percent. Energy star feature makes quality not so good.
Summary bottom line i Could not find a better deal in january 2010 for 399. and the best part is it was a bravia. like the man in the review said in previous 32 inch reviews, " the 32 inch platform does not require 1080p because the size is too small for the human eye to notice the difference." so dont let the best buy guy fool you if your new to the tv buying market. if your in the hunt for a rock bottom price for a name brand tv the kdl32l5000 is your best bet, I must say though my previous tv was a curtismathes 20 inch tube tv but im not new to the hd market. I did a lot of research and narrowed it down to this the vizio, the lg, and the samsung but this was the cheapest had the most positive reviews and looked the best in person, but i liked the samsung in bestbuy also so either is fine but im a sony guy now and forever thanks to this tv. hope my review helps.
Pros It worked great for 2 years, but do you really want to pay that much for a TV that only lasts 2 years.
Cons It broke after 2 years!!!!! The screen went completely black one day. Also, Sony's customer service SUCKS!!!!
Summary I bought my TV two years ago. One day, the screen went completely black! After talking to sony on the phone and taking it into a shop, I found out that the board that processes all of the video was messed up and would need replaced. $475 to repair the TV. That's enough to go buy another TV (That will NOT be a Sony). Also, trying to talk to customer service was HORRIBLE! I spent a total of about 5 hours on the phone with them, including one time when they put me on hold for 45 minutes. Never buy a Sony unless you want to regret your decision in 2 years.
Pros This television is the best out on the market at this price. If you buy this HDTV at Wal-Mart, you'll be putting down about $400, or $460 with HDMI cables for 2 devices. I own a Sony PS3 and it comes out in 1080P with games and Blu-Ray DVD's.
Cons None at all.
Summary Bottom line, it's worth the buy. For $400 what else are you gonna get at this quality?
