"Amazing! Full of features and worth the price." on by Thmiuatga

Pros: Magnificent picture and sound. Very simple to set up and customize. HDMI device control is such a breeze. Wonderful detail when viewing programming and video in HD.
    Absolutely worth the money

Cons: None that I could find.

Summary: This Tv is just amazing. I picked this one over the 26" and I have no regrets. Stunning picture quality and sound. Setup is simple and picture adjustments don't even require the need for professional calibration. This is as close to theater quality as you can get IMHO. The detail is very noticeable especially with true HD video.
I was amazed at the detail of the video I had shot with my Sony Handycam which I had transferred to a DVD disc and played on my DVD player set on 1080p mode.

Set up a DVD player with an HDMI connection and it detects it when you turn it on and switches over to it automatically. Turn it off, and the Tv switches back to the previously viewed channel. I have yet to try the PIP function but I know when I do, I will be pleased with it as I am with all the other features .

This is the second Sony Tv I've purchased since the Trinitron I bought in 83 while in Holland. I picked this set over a Vizio model and this choice is definitely a wise one.
I am going to suggest the Sony to a co-worker who is thinking about getting one and wants to know the details. Bottom line, I'd suggest this set to anyone looking for a HDTV.

"Great LCD to use until real quality LCDs are available." on by pburns87

Pros: None really, just an average LCD.

Cons: Typical LCD problems, noticeable ghosting, can't watch in complete darkness (too bright).

Summary: I would recommend this product simply because there's no way you can get a plasma in this size. I'm not a big color/contrast analyst, but the ghosting on any lcd (120hz etc.) is noticeable. It's quite irritating that LCDs hit the market with such an irritating problem, but it beats the buzzing from a CRT. Don't spend over 800 on an lcd right now, you're either paying too much for crap, or too much for the nice stuff that hasn't had a chance to mature. Makes a great huge computer monitor (w/ PIP) and games don't blur so much that its unbearable. Additionally, I was expecting a bit more from Sony (I think some of the specs are overestimated), but for the price you can't complain.

"Not a good HD picture" on by iLikeTV

Pros: 24p True Cinema, sound. This is the one good thing about this model. BluRay DVD's on my PS3 look amazing. The best I've seen a BluRay ever look. The speakers on this set are above average.

Cons: Picture, lack of settings. I mean there are settings to go through and tweak, but there has been NO calibration i have found to make this set worth buying.

Summary: Bottom line, I would NOT recommend this TV. The picture quality is way lower than other 1080i/720P models out there. In fact, I had a Sharp Aquos which broke during shipment to my warranty carrier. I was reimbursed the full amount of the unit and bought this one. The Sharp was about 3 years old (I forget the model) and had a far and away better picture. When the camera is filming from far way, like sports and broadcasts of the like, the picture becomes grainly and there are some ghostly affects when images are fast moving. However, when you are watching closeup broadcasts like the news, the faces are detailed and look pretty good. Again he 24p makes BluRay movies look amazing and the speakers are pretty good....not tinny. But I cannot get over the fact that of the grainy picture and that my much older set with the same resolution, and lower contrast ration had a much better picture. Other Sony's may be great, but this one is not. I am returning it and going with a Vizio 37" full 1080p. The specs for the price are great and I've seen them in person and the do not disappoint.

"Works great... When it works" on by USMC93

    Pros: Decent picture quality

Cons: LCD screen went out after a year and a half, and the repair cost is more than the TV cost originally.
The sound was spotty and would randomly get loud and then quiet.

Summary: I can't recommend this TV to anyone, and the poor quality has shaken my confidence in Sony products. Sony won't cover or assist with the repair costs, and they offered me a refurbished TV of the same model for $195 plus tax. No thanks. I sold the TV to the repair shop for parts and I'll buy another brand to replace it.

"After a couple of years of ownership, still looks great" on by sicnarfp1

Pros: Classic styling and good looks, great picture after calibrating.

    Cons: Customer service experience sloppy.

Summary: After several years of use, and some abuse, this tv stands up to the rigors and demands of my family's use. Transferring it from one room to another certainly had me worried about the tv's ability to withstand the abuse it was thrown at but this screen still shines when it come to picture quality. I am not understanding other people's reviews about how poor the sound is. I don't fing that to be the case at all. It sounds just fine from 10 feet away, watching from my bed.
