"Can't Beat This Design!"
Pros: Design, excellent picture, impressive sound,set-up a breeze
Cons: price, lack of vga port, could do with more useful features like cable card slot and Tivo-like functionality
Summary: Overall a nice buy if you can splurge. I just thought with a list price that is at least 25% greater than the comparable Sharp LC-32GD4U, I would get all the features of the Sharp and more. While the Sharp has a cable card slot and recording feature for a flash memory card and a computer vga port, all without the convenience of a separate media box, the Sony lacks these. Sony even claims the DVI interface is not compatible with a PC.
Not that I would trade my TV for the Sharp, since I did an extensive research on both before deciding, but I thought folks looking at both should know.
If you are serious about buying this, think about going to a Sony outlet and check out the refurbs they have there. I got my TV, a refurb in pristine condition, for about half the list price. The icing on the cake is the 5-year in home service warranty which cost a relatively paltry $179. Now that is a deal that can't be beat!
