CNET Editors' Take

CNET did not review the Sony KDL-40W4100, but we did review a larger model in the series.

Review:

Although CNET did not review the 40-inch Sony KDL-40W4100, we did review the 46-inch Sony KDL-46W4100. Judging from their spec sheets, the two Sony LCD HDTVs are basically identical but for screen size, so we expect that the review of the 46-inch TV will give a good indication of how the 40-inch model will perform. For more information, refer to the full review of the Sony KDL-46W4100.

"KDL 40W4100" By GlenBeckSux

Pros: Decent when it works

Cons: Will break most likely

Summary: Horizonatal lines causing blurry picture. One of I'm sure millions of sets doing this after I ready about it online.

"This tv will break after your one year warranty expires" By topher323

Pros: nothing good about this tv. During the first year when it actually works the picture is not even that good.

Cons: Not worth the money!

Summary: After a year the t-con board will fail or the lcd panel or something will go out and it will cost more to fix it than to buy a new tv set. Sony really screwed the pooch on this one! I will never buy a Sony tv again.
