"Prefer the w-series instead"
Pros: -improved picture over sony S series
-A.C.E allows you to make details in the blacks
-excellent design - my favorite
-one of sony's slimmest T.V.sCons: -color accuracy problems. In some instances skin tones look extremely yellow and then reddish in some spots like everyone was suffering from a skin disorder. This really bothers me.
Summary: To sum it all up:
-sony tvs have a hard time connecting with my laptop via hdmi.
I've seen and looked at this TV for more than a couple months in electronics store. Its supposed to be our best model in the store. I stare at over 40 different TVs over six hours a day. I compare it side-to-side with an entry level Samsung series 530, and the Samsung had better color accuracy for a lot cheaper price. I can't stand the yellowish tone the sony Z produces, you don't see on every person but it happens occassionally. When you reduce it down to "normal" picture settings, it looks a lot better. I'm suprised the "vivid" store display makes the tv look worse. You can't see the 120 hz feature as well as a Samsung 650. However, I prefer the sony w-series over the Z and if you have to stick with a sony I would go for the W-instead. The color and accuracy on a W is natural and beautiful. I do like the design on the Z better, but picture wise (and price) the W series is a better deal because it also has 120 hz.
