"Great TV with minor issues"
Pros: 1080p, matte screen thus NO glare, CineMotion, good contrast, good speakers, minimal LCD bleed
Cons: tv stand, "software glitch"
Summary: This is a 42 inch 1080p LCD tv with a matte screen so no glare. Good contrast, but matte screens tend to have less contrast than glossy screens. I tried two 42LG50 tv's and both had LCD bleed in the top left and right corners of the screen, but I have not noticed this with the KDL-42V4100. Has the CineMotion option similar to 120mHz to provide a smoother picture quality.
The stand is sub-par as the screen does not sit perpendicular to the floor. I was able to secure the tv to the wall and get is perpendicular. If you are planning on hanging it on a wall, this should not be an issue. There are white bright spots in random places on the black screen and is a "software glitch". The good news is Sony will send you a free software update in the mail that will take care of the issue.
