"Great Picture"on by quist1
Pros Picture, ease of use
Cons None with TV
Summary I bought my sony 46Z4100 from ABT electronics when it first came out. Had them set it up and looks beautiful. Great blacks and works great with Blu ray on my PS3. Don't know what the sparkling comments are about - I've watched older DVD's like Lord of the Rings extended version - looks great. Wish they had a 52" model. The mount I got has one arm suggest getting the one with two arms - even though its under 50 #'s when fully extended (27") it will sometimes **** to one side requiring a little adjustment - just shove it a little, thats what the installers actual said - seems to work. I'll write back if I get any problems but so far its been great ( about 3 weeks now).
Pros Excellent picture quality, contract, black levels, design
Cons "Sparkle" defect (possibly on all sets?), price
Summary I am a sucker for brands and I absolutely love Sony. Late last year I was going to buy an XBR4, but then I read about the clouding, flashlighting, and juddering. As someone that likes gaming and watching sports, I decided to wait and see what Sony had in store for 2008. The initial reports of their 2008 models were fantastic and I loved the slim bezel!raiderspe is correct. After months of silence, Sony has actually fixed the problem. Faith in Sony restored. Now, if I could change my rating it would jump up to a 5/5. Yeah, the sparkle issue annoyed me that much.
I purchased it at my first opportunity and I was one happy camper. That is until I noticed random static-like interference. I thought it was nothing at first, but then I came across a couple threads at a popular AV forum:
An example of the issue can be seen here:
No more clouding, no more flashlighting, no more juddering... but now we get "sparkling!" If you have this TV, you may not notice the problem right away but based on user comments it seems like it is widespread. Keep your eyes peeled, especially while watching scenes with a lot of black!
Come on, Sony! I didn't pay the Sony premium to get a defective product! To their credit, they did offer to send someone over to check out the problem. And besides the sparkling, this LCD is amazing, only being rivaled by the glossy Samsung 650/750. But if Sony can't fix this, then this TV is going back for good (I already exchanged it once)!

Pros Inputs...lots of inputs. Good color. Links with the Sony blu-
ray player very nicely. Not too heavy. OK Speakers. Great design.
Cons The picture is not perfect. I have not seen any red traces as stated in the previous reviews.
Summary This is an OK HDTV...not the best but it does the job.
Pros Sony is a good LCD brand. It good contrast to display decent dark scenes, great for movie and computer hook-up. I recommend you to check out http://www.squidoo.com/best-hdtv for information on what is the best and cheapest HDTV to get 2009.
Cons Samsung is still slightly better in performance, and CNET also give Samsung LCD a better rating.
Summary I give it a five star for trying hard to improve from the past.
Pros Good picture
a Lot of inputs
Slim and sexy looking
Cons I see some pink in the whites. Sometimes I see red traces
Sound is OK at best
Summary Its a good TV. I do see some red traces at times but you have to be looking for them. The menu is alittle confusing (even for a PS3 owner) but all the features are there plus more! Overall its a decent pick. I have to say that the CNET review is VERY detailed and I cant agrue with them. They know their stuff.
