"Great TV with great options with just a few drawbacks"
Pros: 120Hz dejudder, 4 HDMI ports, anti-glare surface, advanced setting controls
Cons: backlight bleed, dead pixel!
Summary: Backlight bleed is inevitable in LCD's. True, the more you pay the better results you'll see. But in this $3000 model, I was expecting more consistency. Before I made my purchase, I visited several samples in different show rooms and watched the W series attentively. None had the imperfections my particular unit exhibits today. The bleed through is most noticeable, as expected, during very dark scenes or all black screens. It's wavy and distracts from the very rich blacks this display can deliver. I also had the misfortune of receiving a set with a dead pixel. Fortunately I have 30 days to replace my set for a new one.
On to the good things: the dejudder works beautifully. Compared to other manufacturers, it truly is better. Some newer Samsungs will beat this 52" W series hands down when it comes to numbers and tests - but ask yourself this important question: Do you really want a shinny screen? What good are all those lab tests and numbers when your desk lamp is reflected across the screen? Surely you don?t expect to be watching your TV in a dark room all the time. Why not enjoy it every minute of the day in all situations.
I found the menus intuitive and well designed. The remote control is very ergonomic and balanced, with well placed buttons.
The speakers, if you chose to use them, are fantastic.
This TV, coupled with HDMI connected PS3, with Motionflow on Standard, is spectacular eye candy - $3000 worth of eye candy, that is! I'm over the disappointment with getting a manufacturers defect, and am confident that my issues will be resolved by Sony promptly.

I'm curious if Sony resolved your issue promptly? I am strongly considering a Sony LCD, I prefer a 52". I am a little worried about the viewing angle, and the black levels. I too have a PS3 and I'm also considering a Panasonic plasma. Thanks for your review!
