"I took a chance and it paid off!"
Pros: It's inexpensive ($899 at Fry's Electronics). HDTV using the Component input is great. Cable input is good. Split screen works well. VGA input had problems, but was fixed (see CONS, below). The CNET editor was completely wrong.
Cons: At first there was too much jitter when using the VGA input. I could not read text on the screen when set at 1280x720, 60Hz. Per Syntax Support's recommendation, I downloaded Powerstrip to tweak my VGA controller. I increase the refresh rate to slightly

"I have the biggest PC monitor on the block!"
Pros: First off, search for yourself on Google for "Syntax Olevia 27" reviews". Thats what I did before deciding to get a discounted open box LCD from Frys for $852 here in Austin, TX. I missed the Black Friday sale after Thanksgiving when it was $799. This TV
Cons: If you expect to take it out of the box and watch TV your wrong, you will probably get 1 UHFchannel so messed up you cant watch it. You need to have HD Cable service available in your area and will need to trade in your regular cable converter for the HD

"Great Picture for the price.!"
Pros: Great picture/unit looks good/easy to use/nice design/,many inputs and can double as a computer monitor/seems well made.!!
Cons: remote is cheap for a unit like this/not backlite & no enter & return button/user guide could be written better.!!
