"Great picture!" on by kjoy69
Pros: No fast motion issues. IR pass through awesome!
Cons: Set installed 3 days ago. no complaints yet
Summary: This set looks great! The picture is significantly better than our 42" Panasonic plasma at 720p from the same source. I did not notice any fast motion ghosting at all. The color looks fantastic not over saturated. I admit to being a novice how ever in our bright sun room this set looked great right out of the box. Lots of picture fine tuning adjustments. I have this LCD connected to my reciever through HDMI. My source is direct tv hi def and an up converting DVD also through HDMI. I am using the IR pass through to control the reciever and DVR in another room behind the set. It works flawlessly. I am extremly happy so far.

"GREAT TV!!" on by NorCalBear
Pros: Bright picture, no blur with sports, great colors
Cons: Pedestal too long (minor), remote large
Summary: This is a great TV. I did a lot of research before purchasing my first HDTV. I was down to the sony bravia xbr5 vs. the toshiba. The toshiba provides a better picture, at a more realistic price for the consumer. The TV performs well for all the things I use it for, i.e. sports, movies, kid's shows. The design is more sleek than the sony as well...Don't worry about the colors, they were great out of the box for my set. The green problem may have been for the first few sets released. Overall I am very happy! Two thumbs up!!

"Fantastic LCD TV." on by presstoplay
Pros: Great picture, a skillion options to fine tune.
Cons: Colour of green is slightly off on some TVs, but can be easily fixed by fine tuning.
Summary: A fantastic TV. I've tried a few before finally settling with this TV. A skillion functions allow you to fine tune the set to your liking. The factory settings are not good (e.g., colour), so you'll have to fine tune the colours (especially the cyan and yellow) with the Colormaster Pro feature. Once you do that, the picture is absolutely perfect. I doubt the customers that are complaining about the "cyan" and "green" colours, even attempted to adjust the set. Right out of the box, the colours are near perfect anyway - but some fine tuning will get rid of the "greenish yellows" completely. The backlight has SOLID uniformity - in other words, NO clouds. Compared to the Sony TVs, this is a HUGE pro. I tried two Sony TVs, and both had major clouding issues due to an uneven backlight. Overall, a stunning picture with a million controls, make this an amazing TV. HIGHLY recommended. The only reason I didn't give it a 10, was because the set itself is abit bulky. It wouldn't be good if you're looking for a flat panel to hang on the wall.

"Horrible Customer Service" on by opaque2009
Pros: When this TV came out it was top of the line with a great picture.
Cons: It turns out that Toshiba is having issues with thier LCD panels from 2007-2008 as confirmed by one of the largest TV repair companies in NYC.
Summary: After owning this TV for just over a year and paying 3300.00, the panel has gone bad and the cost to replace it is 4300.00 with labor. The panel alone is 3400.00.......Toshiba would not replace the panel for me but said I would have to pay half. This is absolutely unacceptable and I am sure a lawsuit will be started if not already started by people effected by this.
