"TV worth the price, don’t fall for cheaper ugly displaying TVs. Perfect for my Xbox 360, and looks a" on by dcapps115

Pros: Programing Guide, 3 HDMI, Amazing Brightness, Well Designed, Excellent black levels, Good price

    Cons: No PiP, Confusing Controls,

Summary: I have been looking to get a HDTV for my apartment for quite some time. I have been looking to get a rather inexpensive HDTV around 800$. I really wanted to get a 37” but I would compromise for a good looking 32” for the money. The main two reasons I wanted to get an HDTV was to play Xbox 360 and watch TV, mainly for my 360. This is my first purchase for a HDTV and I am rather pleased. I plugged it in and connected the cables for my Xbox 360 and turned it on! It looked amazing. My roommate has a 23” Samsung he got a little less than a year ago. It looks on par to that or better. The controls for picture on the TV are fine, and the on-screen guide is simple and perfect, not too much clutter. It has an easy button installation feature which sets up all your channels and creates a menu guide if you do not have a box for onair HDTV with the tunner. I have had the TV for about a week, nothing wrong yet. I paid about 950$ for the TV a little over the around 800$ but well worth it. I was looking at vizios, Westinghouse, olevia and other cheaper TV’s but I am so much happier now I got this and it is a name brand. I did my research I think I know somewhat of what’s good and not. I worked at Costco for a while and I always saw returns of those vizios for whatever reason, but I just kept on telling myself with that cheap of a price it will be worth it, I’ll make it work. Never knowing if I was or not, I trusted the brand and got a name brand which I think was worth it. I know it’s only been a week but it simply looks amazing. it also only takes 3 seconds to turn on. I also purchased the TV at video only.

    "SPECTACULAR!!" on by bolabolaguy

Pros: Picture outstanding, good sound, light weight(for its size)

Cons: Ive only had it up and running for 1 day, no cons yet

Summary: This is my first LCD flat panel TV purchase. The Toshiba 37HL67 is simply outstanding.Awesome pic, crisp and clear, even non hi def regular TV channels look great. Great sound quality also.

I spent several days looking at the retail stores at LCD flat panel TV's between $700-$1,000. I originally purchased a westinghouse 32 inch model 32H590D due to its picture quality and also because it had a DVD player built into the set. Im all about convenience and less equipment to deal with so I loved that. But when I got home the Westinghouse picture quality wasnt anywhere near what I saw at the store(due to them running HDTV) and I dont have HDTV set up. And then the DVD player jammed with my photo picture CD I inserted(as the users manual says it supported picture CD's etc), so that was the final straw and I took it back. Besides these issues, the 32 inch screen size was just too small for my bedroom. Going higher to 37 inches seems to be a big difference.

I almost buy the LG brand as it was the only one that competed with the Toshiba in picture quality, but it seems all the LG reviews are horrendous so I played it safe and went with the Toshiba.

I will say this, while the Westinghouse Hi def pic quality was very outstanding while on the show room floor, it was less than spectacular when simply playing back regular non hi def Dish satellite TV. The toshiba literally BLEW AWAY the Westinghuouse in that regard.

I am VERY pleased with the Toshiba. And Ill say this also , while I was comparing the (Hi Def mode) Toshiba to other twice as expensive models on the show room floor, I couldnt tell the difference in picture quality. FOr the money, it seemed to me it was the best buy. You just cant get much better picture quality even if you spend 2 -3 times as much.

"Great LCD TV" on by Bunnell

    Pros: Wonderful HD picture

    Cons: None at all

Summary: I was able to pick up the 37HL67 as a refurb for about half price of a new one. Out of the box it appeared as new and the only thing distuinguishing it is a small Toshiba factory label on the back stating factory refurb. Aside from the cost I have zero complaints and continue to be amazed at the picture in HD. I believe it is clearer compared to my 62" DLP that I watch 50% of the time. I was a little concerned about the standard def quality and I can honestly say it is better than expected. I almost bought a Sharp Aquos but in comparison at the store the Toshiba's colors were more vibrant. IN comparison te only TV that appeared to be slightly better was a Sony Bravia. The Sony would have cost me 3x more and is not available in 37" just 42". This Toshiba is a winner in my eyes especially for under $800.

"Great TV - Worth Consideration" on by lynnwill1

Pros: Excellent picture, competitive price, great value , highly rated

Cons: Unable to automatically have it adjust aspect ratio to stretch for 4:3 input

Summary: Why has CNET not reviewed ANY Toshiba TV's??
Consumer Reports has rated this TV as the best 37 inch TV. Based on what I have seen, and cost, I agree. Please take a look before purchase. Many options for picture tweaking, aspect ratio and input - HDMI 1.3 included.

I also own a Sony 40XBR2. In my opinion the Sony has a significantly better picture. However I paid over $3000 for the Sony and $1079 for the Toshiba. The Toshiba is in an office and is perfect.

    "Great Buy!" on by Kellygirl2688

Pros: It's very easy to use, and it is bright enough for a very bright room. My Xbox looks amazing with this TV. For the cost great buy.

Cons: The receiver for the remote can be touchy, especially if you have things around your TV.
