Pros Clear Crisp picture.
Awsome with Blu-Ray and Wi-Fi streaming.
Easy connectivity set up.
Cons Lacks quality in sound.
Summary We spent a lot of time researching our need within our budget, and for the money, this was the best selection. Our top choice was a 240 hz unit, but the price for that unit lead to the product not being avaialble. We had one store check up and down the east cost with no avaiabilty and they did not know when the manufactureer would be able to replenish stock. So we decided to go with this TV, which until we saw the above refenced TV was our top choice.. For the price we paid, with promotional discounts from the store, as well as from our cable company, you cannot beat the price we paid. Therefore, we are very satisfied with what we bought.
We are impressed with the veiwing of the HD cable stations, but are really impressed with Blu-Ray. We reacently looked at a 20 year old movie that was remade in Blu-ray. This made watching the movie a new experience. The colors were crisp and items that moved (i.e. a river flowing) were almost a distraction as you focused and were WOW'd by the clarity. I have already watched many sports events on the TV and just can't seem to pull myself away. It is great to be able to follow a puck, or see something on a football field as it occurs. Last weekend followed 3 footbal games and was able to see plays develope in a new prospective as the clariity makes it easier to follow play or spot infractions as they occur (not wait for the official's call).
I do have to complain about the sound quality. Sounds too tinny at times, and does not have a rich clean bass response. I have tried to adjust via the system controls but there is not much of a difference.
Remote control to adjust picture , sound, etc takes a little getting use to, but once you come familiar, they are easy to use. Miss PIP function but really do not use it much with the exception of a large part of the fall sports season, when everything seems to overlap. The RegzaLink capabiliy is really nice and works extremely well with the Samsung BD-3600 Blu-Ray unit.
Pros The controls and equipment hook-ups were easy. The menu was user friendly.
Cons I thought the stand for the tv could've been better. The picture could've been better...looked better in the store.
Summary When I purchased this tv I immediately had problems with it. Hooking all the devices I own was easy and using the menu was easy. But literally 5 minutes after I got everything set up and turned the tv on the screen went black. I called customer support from the place I purchased the tv and they sent out a technician to look at it. Turns out the board in the tv was out. So they offered to exhchange it for another one. When I got the second tv home, everything went fine, until about after 2 weeks I noticed the sound begin to garble and you would have to turn it off and back on again to reset it. Then I noticed a line on the top of the tv screen beginning to form on it. Also we had problems with our cable box system working with this tv, the remotes in particular. Needless to say we exhanged this tv again for another brand altogther. I wouldn't buy this brand ever again.
Pros I love the picture. That's the only pro.
Cons Speakers buzzed, but Toshiba tech could not fix it.
I have white bars the the top line of the screen, only on this tv, not on others in my house.
Summary For speaker buzz, Toshiba first suggested turning down the bass. When that did not work, they sent a tech who replaced the speaker and spent a half hour taping all the loose metal contacts, tapping to find vibration problems (there were many). That helped, but it still rattles for various frequencies (not bass related). So it's torture to listen to it because every minute, it buzzes on some frequency. I find I focus on hearing the next buzz.
After two of my 40" Regzas were replaced by Toshiba for display problems, I don't know why I got another. I do love that picture! Soon after I got the 46", the third 40" panel developed a pink vertical line, but by then, my warranty had expired. It's cheaper to buy a new tv than get it fixed.
So, maybe I won't have to listen to the buzzing for long, except that BestBuy threw in a 4-year extended warranty. Maybe I'll wait for the Toshiba warranty to expire so the Best uy warranty takes effect. Maybe they can fix it.
I had a Toshiba color tv for over 20 years. Great picture and no problems. Now Toshibas do not seem to last two years for me. *sigh*
Pros I absolutely love the picture, sound is great, customer service is phenomenal and the reps speak english! 3 HDMI inputs, and fiber optic digital audio output. 1080p...everything you need for true HIGH DEFINITION
Cons I found none.
Summary My primary TV use is playing xbox 360 and watching movies. I can honestly say every time I turn on the xbox I am amazed at how vibrant and crisp the picture is. I say to myself, "how can picture quality possibly get better than this?"
I had a problem with my surround system audio syncing with the TV and I could not believe how helpful the customer service team was. They were the best I have ever dealt with. My surround system is made by philips and they won't give you the time of day w/o their product being inside the warranty period. I will never buy another philips, they dismissed me and my issue faster than a dozen doughnuts at a police station because they already had my money. Toshiba found me a link to my surround system for a firmware upgrade to solve my problem. I never had a company be so helpful before, it really was so nice. Anyone can sell a nice looking electronic, and they all break eventually, but how you stand by your product means the world (at least to me). customer loyalty is bought with customer service.
I have been a long time dell patron when it comes to laptops, but because their customer service is outsourced to india, god bless them trying to earn a living like we all are, but I speak english, and I only understand english. I need customer service reps that I can understand. I have just purchased my first Toshiba laptop and if it works half as well as this TV, all my electronics will be Toshiba.
Pros The toshiba icon lights up :D, great quality, good refresh rate
Cons Menu could have been a tad better.
Summary this hdtv is good for gamers but needs the HDMI wires. I use my ps3,ps2,psp and wii on this tv and it looks great
