"very horrible"
Pros: broke down in less than 1 month
Cons: broke down in less than 1 month
Summary: unit went totally black witin 1 month of purchase either panel or inverter board burnt out, according to contracted sevice company (which has been helpful and responsive).
customer service manger at toshiba extremely arrogant and dismissive, thinks he is the highest authority at toshiba and stated no one above can be contacted

Toshiba Regza 47" LCD model 47HL167|
After only 6 months, the LCD panel went out on my TV. I called Toshiba and they recommended a service center, I gave them a call and they came out the next day said the panel was bad and would check to see if they could get one or if Toshiba would just send me a new TV since the part costs basically the same as a new set. 2 weeks went by and after several calls and lots of run around the service center said they had located a panel and it was going to take 3-4 weeks to ship it! I called Toshiba and got it delivered in 3 days. My service center kept having problems, gving excuses that they were very busy and couldnt get to my TV anytime soon after approx. 15 phone calls to the service center and to Toshiba to complain, which by the way was a waste of my time, they promise to check on the situation and "light a fire" under the service center, whatever, and call back, well they did not...and not once , I am talking on multiple occassions. Ok long ugly story, the service center finally decides to pickup my TV and repair it saying it will take 5 days, well today was the 5th day and they actually called me back to tell me that Toshiba had sent the wrong display Panel! Now it has been nearly 60 days since my TV broke and you can imagine I'm a little upset by now. I call Toshiba and they inform me that no display panel is currently available for my TV and that they have backordered the part. I ask how long before you get one? they say we dont know but we will call you when one becomes available. HOLY CRAP! I tell the guy I want a new TV shipped out to my house immediately, he says sorry no can do. I ask to speak with his supervisior he says no can do that either. But what I can do is fax a formal request to toshiba asking them to replace the TV and it would be routed to the appropriate department that could make a decision on it. I say ok I'll fax the request I want someone to call me back today with an answer, again Toshiba says sorry I cant promise that, he said infact it will take several days up to 5 days to get an answer, so I said ok can someone call me when a decision is made? he said no he cant promise that either and that I should be patient check back in a week or so if I havent heard anything. SO I am writing this to hopefully deter you from making the same mistake in purchasing a Toshiba TV. The Set worked great (It did have the green shift you have heard about) but I was happy with it until it broke, now I am out a ton of money, and have a worthless TV with a worthless warranty. Honestly I've never experienced anything as frustrating.
