"Annoying red pixel in the right side of the panel"
Pros: Purchased from Costco back in 7/08 and a good price. Nice overall and satisfied until...
Cons: About a month ago a red pixel started to appear in the right hand side of the screen, about 5 inches away from the right and centered vertically.
Summary: I noticed that this red dot kicked in about an hour or so after the tv had been on. Finally had a chance to contact Costco's Concierge service to resolve the issue. Since Costco had changed their return policy, I had to go through the manufacturer. They contacted Toshiba on my behalf with the issue today (12/18) only to tell me that Toshiba is aware of this "feature". Feature? b.s. in the software world, this is called a known defect, a bug. After all this, this is not covered under the warranty. I've purchased a 43" Pioneer plasma and a 32" Sharp Aquos from Costco and none of them have had any problems not to mention they're both atleast 3 years old.
Avoid Toshiba lcds at all cost! It's a shame the rating cannot be a 0 star.
ps- if you are from Toshiba, feel free to contact me @ heretix@hotmail.com
