"Stylish with Outstanding performance!" on by rx74ray
Pros: many! look in the summery section please.
Cons: -reflective screen (helps to achieve better contrast but could be an issue if you have a lot of windows)
-heavySummary: I consider myself a tech savvy. I've been following consumer TV lineups and technology for months. from samsung to vizio, yes I checked them all out! This Toshiba does it the best in its class with solid picture quality and performance. if you are looking for an eye candy go get a samsung, but if you want performance in all aspects then this TV is for you.
I bought this set from amazon and had it for about 2 weeks now. The picture is amazing and the blacks are inky, deepest I've seen around! video processing is outstanding, handles motion really well. This LED TV delivers a great cinema-like experience.
Pros:
-Stylish single glass design
-Deepest inky blacks - Kuro like
-superior video processing - nicely removes judder and blur without adding video-game look
-amazing screen uniformity
-packed with pro-settings and tweaking menus, graphs, ambient light sensor and auto brightness feature
-Local dimming in its best
-no blooming, clouding, ghosting or flashing issues (known issues with LCDs)
-details in gray-black tones visible
-great value
I'm very happy I returned my samsung LED for this unit. samsung LEDs (6000, 7000 and 8000 series) suffer from screen uniformity issues!
Buy this unit and you won't be sorry. -
"Disappointed after waiting 3 months for this TV" on by earltjohnson
Pros: It has almost all of the latest features.
Cons: Screen is way too reflective for our great room.
Summary: I will post my wife's email to my son about the delivery of the set.
I thought I would update you on our long journey of purchasing a TV. Much to our surprise the new Toshiba was finally released this week, and were available at Best Buy. Of course we rushed right over to check it out, but they didn?t have one on display yet. We decided that we had done as much research as we could possibly do so we bought it. Both Dad and I were excited that we could get next day delivery and end the TV search. Well, I almost cried when they brought it in! Even before they turned it on I knew it would not work in our room. The screen is like looking in a mirror! I honestly think that I could put my make-up on my standing in front of it. Our research told us that this set had a filter to eliminate the glare, but not the case. I guess the actual picture is great, but you can see everyone in the room as well as the entire patio in the screen. So, back it will have to go and we don?t have a clue of what to get!!! I hate to admit being depressed about a TV, but I am! Any suggestions? -
"Very disappointed in this TV" on by dean3871
Pros: Fairly good HD picture
Cons: This TV is not HDCP compatible.
Very poor SD picture.
Adjustment settings are confusing and not described very well in manual.Summary: I purchased this TV last month and hooked it up to a Shaw cable HD PVR through an HDMI cable. I was so dissapointed in the picture quality of the SD channels that I ended up switching to a satellite HD PVR and provider hoping this would impove the SD programing. I did notice an improvement with the SD cannels on the satellite HD PVR. Last week I tried to rent an HD pay per view event and received a message from my PVR that I am not able to rent the event in HD because the connected TV does not meet the HDCP compliance required. After checking with my satellite provider he advised that the only way I would be able to rent an HD pay per view on a non-compliant TV would be to disconnect the HDMI cable and reconnect with a component video cable. I spoke to Toshiba to see if there was a firmware update to fix this issue and they basicly told me the same thing as my satelite provider. I spoke to Visions, the dealer where I purchased this TV and luckly they have agreed to swap this TV for another. After looking into this further, I have found that most of all other major brand names are HDCP compliant. This will be the last Toshiba product that I will purchase.

"Beautiful picture quality for all media devices!" on
Pros: Clear, crisp picture quality, whites are WHITE, blacks are BLACK, several settings, several media connections, sound is great (even without my surround sound), REGZA link is awesome, and did I mention the crisp picture?
Cons: Slight glare
Summary: I use my TV for all kinds of media formats: PS3, HDTV, Movies, Bluray, USB media, Computer, etc. I have not had any problems with this TV, so far, and I have owned it for a year. It is easy to use and set up. Even though there are several settings, it is easy to select the best setting for your viewing pleasure. I'm happy with the REGZA link which communicates with connected media players, smoothly. My kids like to split the screen four ways on the PS3 Call of Duty, and the picuture AND sound is excellent. No need for the surround sound, most of the time. No complaints other than the slight glare. Other than that, I LOVE THIS TV.
