"Great value LCD TV" on by johnsmartin4050
Pros: Value and picture
Cons: Remote not programmable with TIVO
Summary: Great TV for a great price. Works well and screen looks great. Only issue is that the ViewSonic TV does not allow TIVO remotes to operate the power and sound. I now have to use 2 remotes as I have a TIVO hooked up to this TV. If ViewSonic reads this, please work with TIVO to get them the correct remote codes for your TV's!

"Disappointed with analog picture quality" on by venkris
Pros: Decent digital quality
Cons: Poor analog picture quality, hard to change video input source
Summary: In addition to my 55" plamsa, I wanted to get a second HD ready TV for my PS2 and PC. Viewsonic 32" LCD monitor sounded like best value for the money ($1190). Initially when I connected compsite RCA cable from my PS2 to viewsonic, picture quality was horrible. Couldn't even read much of the text in GT4 game just from 2 feet away. Then I replaced the cable with a component video cable and quality seemed to improve a lot. Also tried the VGA input from a PC and the quality was not bad. I tried several analog video output devices (all through RCA cables) and the viewsonic quality was not good. Another problem is usability issue: It takes 10 clicks to change the video input (you need to bring up the menu, go to page 2, scrool down to the input you want, hit enter, click menu few times to exit out). Summary: Digital quality is decent but no where near plasma quality. Analog quality was very poor doesn't even compare to my other Sony tube TV. More issues include too much delay between mode changes & PIP changes (screen goes blank), and a very noisy shutoff.

"Great Picture - In need of some refinements" on by skburke
Pros: Compact, great picture, and decent price
Cons: Poor and confusing input handeling
Summary: I had purchased the N3250W LCD TV because I needed a set with the speakers on the bottom in order for it to fit in our bedroom cabinet and I wanted to go with a traditional LCD manufacturer.
The N2350W is very light at 45lbs and getting into position was refreshingly easy. However, I was shocked to realize that it only has two basic inputs. The lower input bank can be HDMI, D-Sub or Component. The side input bank can be TV (Antenna), Video/S-Video (shared audio) or Component. This can make it difficult if you plan to use this tv without a A/V receiver and have several electronic components. On the bottom input bank you can attach a HDMI, D-Sub/Component (uses same audio input) at the same time. The side input you can attach, TV, Video/S-Video (uses same audio input), and Component at the same time. You might think this is a ton of inputs, until you realize that using PIP you can only use one input from each input bank. Also, selecting an input can be very confusing since, you can not label the inputs.
I was lucky because my DVD recorder converts any signal into Component. After setting up the TV with HD-Tivo through the HDMI port, it produced amazing clearity and I realized that going with a traditional LCD manufacturer was the right choice. The PQ is amazing!!!
One last note is that for some goofy reason you can only set the sleep timer in TV mode (not HDMI, Component, Video, etc.). -
"Viewsonic n3250w" on by semery74
Pros: Superb picture quality even with 480i
Cons: Accessibility to user guide
Summary: I just took the leap in to High Definition. I was a little hesitant about my choice of going with Viewsonic, but I have been pleased thus far. I was impressed with the spectacular difference between my old Zenith and the n3250w. The only issues I had was with Viewsonic's ineffectiveness to promote the features of this good product. But realistically all you need to do with any of these new TVs is plug it in and turn it on. This is only my first step in to the Digital Relm, but over the next year I plan to purchase a Progressive Scan DVD Player with upconverting feature and a High Definition Satelite Receiver with a built in PVR. But if Viewsonic would like to sponser my good taste in products, perhaps I'll receive a random act of kindness delivered to my front door

"Viewsonic N3250W LCD TV" on by mike_yehey37
Pros: N/A - nothing positive to say about this product
Cons: Don't buy this product
Summary: Please don't buy this product (Viewsonic N3250W LCD TV). It sucks. It will die on you after 6 months or 1 year. I bought mine on late November 2005 and it died early December 2006. The screen flickered twice and then the screen just suddenly went blank. I called technical support and they said to turn main switch off for a few minutes then turn it back on. I turned it off for a few hours. It helped for a few minutes and it died again. Now all it does is beep (nothing on screen, no video, no sound at all, just a blank / black screen). I tried calling them again and they said they don't know what's wrong with it, said LCD's should never flicker. I tried their online technical support, no help also (they did not even respond to my 2 emails). Product & Company sucks...
