Pros I've had 3 other HD's....latest is a Samsung, but before that I had a Sony and a Panasonic. I bought the Sony most recently, a 47" LED LCD, includg 240hz proc....this Vizio beats all- better picture, audio, features, color, contrast, sharpness, etc.
Cons Can't find any. I was pretty sold on Samsung as the best player in this arena, but now, imo, it's Vizio's hands down....and even if they were the same price as the others. Vizio beats them with 20-50% less in price.
Summary I can't wait to get the 55" True LED Vizio- when it comes back in stock, that is! You are flat missing the boat if you don't go with Vizio, and especially this one. I got a $1300-1800 tv for $679, plus got a 2 year warranty on it free of charge.
Pros Great picture quality! Various picture/advanced picture option to suit your needs! Comes with 1 yr manufacturer warranty of purchased brand new! It comes with 3 HDMI ports, I have one for my cable box, one for my PS3, and an extra just in-case.
Cons I honestly can't think of any yet. The TV has been mine for only about 1 month, and although many people believe if there are any manufacturer issue they will occur either right away, or long down the road, well I haven't had any immediate issues yet
Summary I think the size (mine is a 42 inch is perfect) for an apartment, or most living rooms within a mid-size range to be honest. I purchased knowing about all the picture/advanced picture settings, meanings, recommendations, etc so I tuned in the picture to my liking and couldn't be happier. I finally rented a blue-ray video and watched in on my PS3, loved it! Wow, this is my first plat-panel LCD HD, but I have seen allot of TV's and this one is right up there with the Samsung's and Sony's without a doubt! My sister just paid 900 for a similar size (42 inch) sony with similar capabilities, I think my tv is just as good or better (and I bought it for $579.00 on sale with free shipping through Amazon directly). I would purchase an extended warranty through someone seeing as LCD Flat Panels aren't cheap, but as of now with various picture settings tuned 3/4 of the way up (I like vivid/brightness), I have had no issues, and like I said it's only been about 3 weeks or so. The controller works great unlike some reviews across the internet with this tv. I am not anal by any means, but I just don't see how someone can complain for the size, options, price, etc pertaining to this model? I couldn't ask for a better tv for my needs (tv programs, movies, blue ray, and video games. One tip, turn adaptive luma on medium, turn your backlight to somewhere around 60-65, contrast around 60, and eliminate the last two options under advanced picture settings (they both control your backlight automatically), and unfortunately it makes your picture go dark in color all the time ***make sure to do this before considering bringing the tv back from where you purchased it (remember, turn off the last two settings under advanced picture control.
Pros Cheap, easy to carry
Cons Did not work with HDTV, horrible customer service
Summary Bought this TV a couple weeks ago. Got HDTV through RCN set up and there was no audio on the TV. Had RCN come back out and replace the box and HDMI cable and still did not work. Did some investigating and found that Vizio TV's are known for having an issue where the TV just will not pick up an HD signal. Called Vizio and they tried trouble shooting it with me over the phone. Didn't work. I asked to have someone come out and look at it and they refused saying it was a problem with the box and not the TV. So I hung up and went and returned it. Bought myself an Insignia and set it up in 10 minutes and the so called "faulty cable box" works perfectly with the new TV. The person I spoke with there is badge number 404289. If you get him on the phone, hang up and try someone else. He's useless. Kind of like their products.
Pros Awesome picture quality just as good as Samsung ,Panasonic ,Sony the images will just blow you away such a great tv that was only $598 at Walmart. Great if your a gamer as well just a great tv if you are a big sports fan football, etc just great. And the
Cons None at all...
Pros Very Big Screen and enough features to change basic viewing. To big for my gaming online. Your eyes can only view so much so quick. To big for playing shooting games online.
Cons Great picture. But Poor viewing from a angle. But the screen is so big I don't think you really have to worry about viewing it from a agile.
Summary Good TV but not great. Would be my third chose on getting. 1st would be Samsung 40" 2nd would be the 40" LED-LCD Vizio and this would be my third chose. All and all I would pass and go with Vizio LED or Samsung but my college buddies go with Vizio because its cheaper. So if you want cheaper ad least pay a little more for the Vizio LED one.
