"CAN'T BEAT THE PRICE"
on by unified4mePros I love that I can tweak the settings to my heart's content.
Any settings I make for one input has no affect for another input. Complete isolation.Cons Only one Component input, and no S-video input.
Summary Blacks certainly could be Blacker, and the speakers could Speak-up better, but all things being said, you will not be disappointed with this set.
After you turn-off the Ambient light sensor (and you absolutely must turn it off and leave it off) then you will be ready for Prime Time.
Select from 1 of 8 different pre-set Picture Modes or season to your own taste.
Most who are considering this type of purchase, already have a sound system which would be used in the event they really want to feel what they are seeing!, and the S/PDIF (Optical Out) takes care of that. This means that for listening to your local news, or Oprah, the TV speakers will do just fine.
So just pop in a DVD or BRD if you prefer, crank up the 6.1 surround sound, and I guarantee you, that after about 5min. of watching something like Transformers or Avatar, you will completely forget about how Black the Blacks aren't. The colors are Killer.
I just watched Auburn spank Oregon (BCS) I'm telling you, the picture don't leave much to be desired.
Buy with confidence, got mine from EBAY 470$ like new 12/23/10. -
"Read the whole cnet review, not just the intro"
on by SteveQinKCPros Got it refurb'd for $500+62.
Great Picture, best value in the world!!!!
Accurate colors, Good Blacks for LCD
Has PIP and POP, most dont (ie TV on one, Web/Computer on the other)
Stand doesnt add much height for my over-the-mantle installCons The cnet rating/headline/intro/tone doesnt accurately relect their own review. Perf is good yet they nitpick superficial stuff and used the general Plasma v LCD blacks comparison to denigrate the TV. All objective test data iis positive
Summary Isnt it interesting that with all the bells and whistles turned OFF, the PQ and Colors are best/more accurate, so why spend more for sets with even more features?

"Incredible TV - particularly good value"
on by bruciblePros Picture quality is outstanding - both SD and HD
on screen controls are easy to navigate and you can see the picture adjustments right away
120Hz refresh rate is very smooth
Audio quality is surprisingly good.Cons IR interference with Direct TV receiver. Had to turn off the ambient light sensor, then everything was fine (I don't miss this feature in my living room)
Summary Outstanding TV

"Cheap but good"
on by lmccollPros $687.99 at Costco. You will not find a better value. It's lightweight also, one man can easily carry this.
Cons Nothing I can think of.

"In side by side comparisons it was the sharpest of all."
on by mjd420novaPros Many inputs, HDMI, composite and PC offered good connectablity. Well balanced unit with stable baseplate. Wide range of adjustment makes it easy to setup in any environment.
Cons Lack of "S" video input connector and analog audio output (headphones/external speaker) detract from full system integration
Summary Got a great buy with discount from employer making the purchase even better than any other brand. First flat panel purchase and delighted with the performance so far.
