"Excellent Offer with Excellent Price"
Pros: Wireless integrated surround system, universal remote, multiple connectors (HDMI, Component, etc), Picture quality
Cons: No built in screen saver, TV runs 'hot', no swivel base
Summary: Walking into Costco, we saw this TV being offered, with complete sound system for $1299 - we couldn't say no; and neither did many others considering we walked out with the last set before they boxed up the floor model to be sold.
Setup was an absolutely breeze, and the sound system required no 'pairing' or additional setup, other than plugging it in. It is pure bliss to have a wireless speaker surround sound that requires virtually no setup other than plugging the power in.
We had also purchased an XBOX 360 with an HDMI cable and the picture is fantastic. We're still waiting on our Comcast upgrade to HDTV... which leads me to my other point.
The universal remote automatically worked with our Comcast digital box - no programming/setup required; it was great. We have one remote to control sound, TV, channels, etc.
My only complain would be the slight artifacting that occurs with non-HDTV picture. I would assume that a higher-end processor would handle it better, especially considering how many few channels are available in HDTV.
The TV is slighter thicker than a few of the others we looked at, and very heavy. We're pensive to wall-mount due to the weight.
A highly recommended TV for those wanting to enter the flat-screen market but not wanting to clear their savings account.
