"Great TV for the Price"
Pros: Sharp HDTV Picture
Cons: Wall mounting is a pain and standard TV is grainy
Summary: This is a great TV for the price. You simply cannot find a better quality TV with all the bells and whistles for the $1,499 price tag (at Costco). The HDTV quality isn't the end-all-be-all, but then again I do not have a wall of plasma TVs to compare it too. It?s a great picture, but it?s not like looking out the window.
The biggest drawback is the grainy picture when viewing standard TV. I have Comcast cable and this might be due to the signal, but doubt it. The set-up for the wall mounting is a bit odd. It looks completely unsecured. 8 small 1/2" screws hold the TV in place to the wall bracket. I guess it will hold, but I live in San Francisco; I will let you know how it does in the next earthquake. The bracket was recommended by Vizio.
Overall, I am happy with the TV. I would recommend buying it if you are in the market for a flat LCD TV and do not feel like shelling out over $2,000 for a plasma. I watched the super bowl this past Sunday and 90% of my guests were impressed by the picture quality. The other 10% thought it was great, but not equivalent to a plasma TV, but then again neither is the price tag.
