The Bottom Line With commendable image quality and plenty of connections, the relatively inexpensive Vizio P50HDTV 50-inch plasma is the best value in its class. Samsung's PNB650 series can't quite match the best plasmas on the market, but it comes close enough to offer a viable alternative. For many less critical viewers, the Vizio VP50HDTV's bargain pricing will be worth the trade-off in picture quality. Sure, it has a few flaws, but nothing fatal prevents the local dimming, LED-backlit Vizio VF551XVT from exhibiting excellent LCD picture quality for the buck.
