    "Great Plasma" on by bluequaker

Pros: Price, foot print, picture quality and looks

Cons: It weights 165 pounds net

Summary: I love Pioneer but just can not afford one, Panasonic’s 58 inch was the only thing I really considered and found one at the same price on line as the VIZIO but noted it was being discontinued and would not accept 1080p.
The final decision came down to fact that I could go to my local SAMS, pick up the unit (with the help of two others), take it home, set it up, test it and if I did not like the picture take it right back.
The height was a big factor as I am moving my VIZO 42’’ plasma to the bedroom and only have 41’’ height space. The color of the frame matched our dark brown leather/cherry wood floors. I am tried of the silver and black. I wanted to see and test the 60 inch one before I mounted it on the wall or returned it, again nice to buy from local ventors.
The new unit is connected to my Dish DVR with a DVI/HDMI and my Sony DVD player with component-video.
I ended up with Movie (dark room), the temp is warm and turning on the Fleshtone to its min setting. I try a local basket ball game, a few action DVD’s and the HD Discovery Channel.
I was just amazed, now we do live in Florida and thus the Fleshtone may seem more normal than where David katzmaier may live, but the picture was just great. The colors were true, the detail out of this world with good black and skin tones. Price not with standing, my wife and I were very pleased. I got a 200 pound wall mount and we are planning a wall mounting party next.

    "Vizio 60" Plazma Vizio VM60PHDTV comparing 50" to 60"" on by kb111

Pros: Great price, unproved picture, size, over all look, remote lights up, did I say SIZE and yes girls it does matter…. Great sound, amazing sound for TV speakers.

Cons: not easy to get home, for the price cant reaaly say anything bad at this time still new but will follow up soon

Summary: Let me start by saying thank you to all the people who leaves reviews, when I bought my 1st vizio 50” had know idea about vizio and the reviews left here was very helpful. OKAY let me tell you what I think!
I bought a Vizio 50” from Costco and mainly from them because of the great warranty service. By the way there policy has changed this week “read on”. For the price, Love the 50” overall great picture. I compared them to mainly the Panasonic because what I read it was the best. I did not see it. On the Panasonic the faces of people look like they were watercolor paintings compared to vizio more natural, this is me and my Wife’s opinion. We planed to show a 2 hr video we edit to a trip from Africa this is one reason we were upgrade the TV are 35” tube was craping out on us. Instead of trying to compare the in house video feed we brought are DVD player in to watch are video on both TV Pan and vizio this DVD player boosted the signal to 720i. Could not believe how bad the Panasonic was compared to Vizio. So only did we think the picture was better in the in-house video but much better with DVD player? Now after reading and see we decided on Vizeo 50” and was very happy with it watching HD TV it looks great and for you people who get so picky about it get a life… if you want to pay $500- 3000 more depending on size for the picky stuff go ahead. I thinks it is a waste of money the technology is all going to be different in 5-10 years and we will be buying new stuff anyway….. Now I have had the 50” for 1 year 4 weeks…. problem I had was watching TV 5 days ago and the Vizio just died like someone turned it off and the amber light went from green to amber back and forth. SO it stop working called vizio said it sounded like the power supply sorry it was 4 weeks out of its 1 year warranty.
No worry called Costco and they said there police changed this week they now have a 2 year repair plan for all TV sold now but since we bought this before police change bring it back for a full refund!!! got to love them so they credit me 2499. With tax and then I had to decide what to get. Well my 1st concern, Does Visio have problems so I hunted the net except for a few problems no complaints out there. Called talked to some friends at Costco and not a lot of these have been returned broken very few my friend told me more from people taken advantage of the return police so they can upgrade or get some money back that’s why they changed there policy. THANKS losers for screwing up for us honest people out here. OKAY I feel better getting that off my mind. So I started to compare vizio and Panasonic again same conclusions so I took the refund added $300 to it bought the VIZIO 60” and this is what I think. Great Plasma TV. Picher is just as good in HD even through its bigger. I think they improved the ghosting that I used to get on the 50” I have been only watching for a few days and I have been looking so far no ghosting. The black is good as good as the 50” I think even through the contras ratio is 7000; I hear this means nothing anyway. Color is very good mainly watched in Movie mode. The look is a huge improvement love the color edge dose a nice transion to the wall instead of black to usually light color wall and to get rid of the speakers on the bottom never liked them on the 50”. I use very high end external sound system, but I was blown away from the built in speakers that are on it I think the best I have heard from a TV. I do have this mounted on the wall with a 5 degree pitch perfect for it and I sit 11’-12’ feet away just right if you are 10’ or closer this will be to big for your room. So am I glad and would suggest going from 50” to 60” YES for the price Fantastic. I will follow up later after some more viewing. Don’t get suckered in to being so picky or it dose not put out 1080p for one thing no broadcast is in true 1080p yet but that is coming. When I look at HD broadcast like letterman news ECT it like looking out of a window. It is stunning. I note about regular non HD programming. Bigger TV less quality but in 2-3 years that will be history. I hope this helps you with your decision. If your looking for a great TV you can’t beet the price if you’re wanting the BEST of the BEST perfection, I feel sorry for you there is more to life then TV……. And better places to spend money. Thank you for your time have a great life…….

It's my typing and spell check and why don’t you work on your manners, I could not find anything on this TV, so I left this to help people. I don’t have much time with my schedule. I rushed to give you information. If you don’t have anything nice to say try shutting up...didn’t your grandparents tell you that?
To every one else TV has been great again for the price very happy with it.

"Absolutely the great features, excellent sound and video" on by roadbusinessguy

Pros: Very bright and sharp display even in bright light, 4 HDMI inputs, PIP, POP, Easy to use, greate color and blends well with the furniture

Cons: Get some teenagers, or someone with strong lifting can-do. You need HELP physically setting this puppy up.

Summary: Picked this thing up at Cosco, saw it next to others and was perplexed at first. The Panasonic and Sharp plasma's seemed sharper, until the fast action started. It seemed as though the refresh rates and contrast ratios in those were slower and lower as pixel blocks appeared when things began to speed up. The Vizio did not experience this at all, even on the demo which has been on display for months (i'm sure they keep those things powered up all day, every day). I figured the technology on either LCD, or Plasma still has a way to go before it is truly ready for prime time, so I asked myself, do I spend my hard earned money on something that is still not perfect (clearly over $3k on the better models), or do I spend just $2k for something that has more bells and whistles than the most expensive units and wait a few years for these bugs to all get worked out. I've done allot of reading, and recently I heard that Super HD is coming out over the next year, or two which will make this stuff like watching an etch-a-schetch (well you get my meaning I hope). For these reasons I chose this unit and I am not unhappy one bit. In my family room, this thing blows my mind. I don't remember the side by side comparisons any more and once you try HD, trust me, you never want to go back. Good luck everyone, I've made my decision and it was a good one! I hope this helps you some.

"Awsome. Not only good looking, but Incredible in SIZE." on by JAYCRU

Pros: Can not beat the price ($1,999.00).

Cons: Heavy-You are going to need 2 strong people to pick it up.

Summary: We picked it up at Cosco at around 6:30 pm and we were watching it at 8:00 pm. Comes with the stand on. Very easy to setup. I know what the reviews say, but trust me, it makes no difference to me. IT LOOKS INCREDIBLE. My wife and I are very happy with this buy.

"Great Product, Great Price" September 6, 2007 by margie_baldwin

Pros: Beautiful picture, simple menu, good remote control, love HDMI connectivity & component inputs are HD capable but accepts lesser resolutions.

Cons: not much cons unless you are willing to pay a lot more

Summary: I'll keep my comments short and sweet. Consumers can get as technical as they want, but balance the practicality of price to the quality of product and this one should rate high.

The native resolution of the Vizio VM60PHDTV is 1,366x768 and according to numerous tests, the Vizio deinterlaced 1080i sources properly for display on the big screen. The Vizio seems to handle 1080i and 720p sources equally well. Remember, there are 36 approved formats of HDTV, but the most popular for the TV transmissions have been 720p & 1080i. Many upconvert their analog to SDTV anyways and by the time the cable and satellite companies deliver, this tv does a decent job in converting to its native resolution. For the programming that does originate in HD from the networks and other delivered sources, the Visio looks beautiful, clear and crisp. If you don't like the preset settings, you can even customize to your preference (right or wrong, but to the way you like it best). LOL

So what if it doesn't handle 1080p? There's little to none around for the general masses to appreciate right now any ways. When more of that product comes around, the consumer market technology will adapt accordingly and produce a new line of capable products and we will all want to buy new toys. If you are lucky enough to have an HD source player, you won't be disappointed with this plasma. It looks superb!

So balance price with quality and make your choice. I did and I am satisfied with the Visio.

I would rate this 8-9, but when I read the only low rating comment of 4, I decided it was unfair reasoning and misleading the average of the true rating. I'm giving it a mark of 9 to help counter that remark.
