"An overall good value"
Pros: Good HD picture, nice price, lots of input options
Cons: Standard definition broadcasts look awful, image retention is almost unavoidable, makes a buzzing sound when displaying bright images
Summary: First off, I want to say that the picture settings recommended on this site are awful. I tried those dark room settings on my tv and it was the dullest picture I have ever seen. Contrast at 6? Color at 37? Hello, I bought this tv to see a good picture and those settings will not do the tv justice. I tend to adjust my settings according to what I'm watching, but this is roughly what I use
BRIGHTNESS:40-50
CONTRAST:30-40
COLOR:45-55
TINT:0
SHARPNESS:4-5
The rest of their recommendations are ok.
Overall I'm happy with this tv but I don't think I would buy it again if I was looking for a new tv. The picture quality on HD is very good but standard definition tv is basically unwatchable. So even though I have well over 200 channels, I'm only watching the 20 or so HD channels and only a handful of them are good(the content that is, the picture is good on all of them). The tv looks excellent with high defintion dvds also and very good with ordinary dvds, though my HD-DVD player is upscaling them too. I also use the tv with an XBOX 360 and that too looks excellent. When the tv is displaying bright images, it makes an annoying buzzing sound. Not really a big deal if you keep your volume relatively high like I do, but I can see how this would annoy some people. 3 HDMI inputs is good as I'm using all of them and the quality of the component input is also very good(nearly indistinguishable from HDMI). There's also an RGB input for computers and composite/s-video inputs so the input selection is pretty generous. My biggest gripe with this tv is image retention. Almost very channel puts their stupid logo down in the lower left hand corner and because of that I now have an ESPN logo down there. You can only see it when there's a blank black or blue screen and even then it's barely noticeable, but it is there nonetheless. I'm not sure if it's permanent or if it will disappear in time. I broke the tv in properly too so it's not from misuse. It's unavoidable if you watch channels that have their logo displayed on the screen fulltime which unfortunately is most of them. Because of this, when I buy another HDTV it will be LCD and not Plasma and I will spend a little more to get 1080p and a larger screen(at least 50 inches)

Thank you for confirming that those settings were all wrong. It made the picture look horrible. I agree with the new settings that you stated. I lke a little stronger in the color but you were right on
