Review:

We have not reviewed the Vizio VU42LF, but we have reviewed a Vizio TV that's very similar. The Vizio GV42LF costs a bit more than the VU42LF, but they share the same picture elements and so should exhibit identical picture-quality characteristics. The GV42LF also has detachable speakers, virtual surround sound, and better compatibility with high-resolution computer signals. Aside from these features, dimensions, and appearance, the two sets are basically the same. For more details, check out our full review of the Vizio GV42LF.

"Definitely all the bang for your buck" By vespa55

Pros Reasonably priced, great image quality at affordable price

Cons Annoying glowing "VIZIO" symbol at front of screen

Summary For one, I bought the VU42LF at Costco. A consumer of an HDTV needs to realize that most HDTVs require a little picture setting tweaking/meddling/fixing. All the TVs (top brand names too like Samsung, Sony, Sharp) were displayed next to the Vizio VU42LF and I was surprised to ... Expand full review
