"Definitely all the bang for your buck"
Pros: Reasonably priced, great image quality at affordable price
Cons: Annoying glowing "VIZIO" symbol at front of screen
Summary: For one, I bought the VU42LF at Costco. A consumer of an HDTV needs to realize that most HDTVs require a little picture setting tweaking/meddling/fixing. All the TVs (top brand names too like Samsung, Sony, Sharp) were displayed next to the Vizio VU42LF and I was surprised to see that there really wasn't much difference in image quality. Oh, scratch that, the VU42LF had almost the same image quality as the Samsungs and Sony Bravias next to it but was nearly $500-$700 CHEAPER! I hooked up my Toshiba HD-A20 via HDMI cable to the VU42LF and I can't believe how good the image quality is. I left all the the advanced settings turned off because they generally tend to affect the image quality. It's definitely a steal in my opinion. I paid $1099.99 for the VU42LF and what I got rivaled the image quality of my friend's 52" Sharp Aquos - only I didn't pay the price of a small used car to get the same image quality. I can't say much more about this. My Comcast HD Box worked out swell too. Vizio may be new to the technology business, but for a new company, their stocks and consumer rating have rivaled that of Sony and Samsung - and after purchasing and owning the VU42LF - I now know why. Terrific HDTV!
