"Excellent TV at any Price" on by joburnet

    Pros: Picture Quality, Price

    Cons: Slow Channel Changing

Summary: First I was looking into what type of tv to buy, Projection (LCD OR DLP), Plasma, or LCD and deceided on LCD because of the picture quality, brightness, viewing angle, and the kicker was reliability. Once I picked LCD I went out and got this at Sams Club. I watched it right next to a Sharp Aquos and the picture quality was almost identical. When I got it home it looks awesome at any time of the day. DVD's look great and when hooked up to an antenna to get broadcast HD signals it's amazing to watch. It's one of the cheapest 46" LCD's you can get the it's not skimping on anything at all.

    "Great Quality" on by sideout1

Pros: Looks amazing, pretty cheap compared to other TV's of similar size.

Cons: Cannot stress this enough, it's practically impossible to change the volume. You have to be standing directly infront of it at it's level and a maximum of about 5 feet away.

Summary: Great looking TV, looks fantastic right out of the box. Looked at TV's of all brands, and at the store this TV looked a bit dimmer than any others there, and wasn't very appealing. But it was much cheaper and bigger and the other westinghouse's had good reviews, and also look pretty crappy at the stores. Went out on a limb and picked one up from Sam's, and it's amazing.

However, the volume is amazingly horrible. It is literally a pain in the ass to change the volume, you have to get up... I like the remote it comes with, but having to sit so ******** close to the TV for it to work and right in front of it is a pita.

"Over air reception is better than I had hoped. Went from 6 SD channels to 6 SD and 8 HD, GREAT." on by Patrick Shannon1

Pros: Great picture right out of the box, adjustments are easy and forgiving if you make a mistake while trying different settings. Great buy for LCD of this size.

Cons: Sound is OK but needs surround sound system.

Summary: A lot of TV for most rooms but crystal clear at any distance. Highly recommended

"Great TV - no complaints" on by JerriEricd

    Pros: Low Price big PICTURE

Cons: Only 1 HDMI input (like most other HD tv's)

Summary: I bought a Sony 40" XBR1 LCD last year. I have a small room and the Sony was a good fit. Love the TV but at $3,400 it's pretty pricey. Saw the Westinghouse at Sam's and liked the picture and price. Bought for my daughter. I think the TV is terrific and I have no regrets. Complaints about the volume seem to me to be petty. If you are buying a HD LCD then you should spring for a sound system.

"I really like this TV, very good picture, good computer monitor also" on by rsbruner

Pros: Bright picutre, decent blacks, auto sync feature for inputs is nice

Cons: Minimal adjustments, slow remote response, bright back lighting, VGA input changes resolution without cause

Summary: I have to say I really like this TV. I have read elsewhere that this may actually be a Samsung in Westinghouse clothing, but I don't have the courage to open this TV up to verify.

I purchased this TV for $849 from a refubished TV dealer to use as a presentation monitor in our office. The community quite enjoys seeing it the store front. For fun I have attached an upscaling DVD player to it, and the picture is great. When the sun is out, you can not see the TV picture at all.

Using the VGA connector, we run a powerpoint presentation for advertising and the picture is excellent. The only problem we have is that the display will change from 1366 x 768 to 1280 x 720. After rebooting the computer we can get it back to 1366 x 768, but then it changes when to 1280 x 768 or 1280 x 720, whatever it feels like for the day. A minor problem. The v-sync feature makes up for any resolution issues.

I would like to hook-up an OTA antenna to see the HDTV picture, unfortunately, we live in a valley where this is not possible.

It has a good number of inputs, plenty for our needs.

The remote is very slow to respond to any commands. There are not many color adjustments that can be made, and the picture doesn't change much amongst the settings.

    Updated
I purchased this TV for $850 refurbished from ecost.com and have been very happy with it now for 9 months. Though the remote is slow in selecting functions and it must be aimed at the right spot on the TV, it is only a minor complaint. What is a complaint is that the controls are very basic. You can only change the hue, contrast and brightness and not the individual colors. This TV is great when hooked up to a computer - a magnificent 46" monitor. We use ours at work for displaying advertisements. Very good picture for an LCD and one of the better I have had.
