"Good TV, not the best - not the worst"
Pros: Nice options, auto-scan, many inputs, pretty much Plug and Play (PnP)
Cons: (see review) 1) Humming 2) Channel Info doesn't work, even though my Insignia does
Summary: I like the TV, it was a Christmas present and it is as others say, add the cables, plug in the power (make sure you have a 3 prong extension cord - the black one in box is short), and the tv will scan all the channels for signal.
The TV is bright, good in doors, good sound quality and the ability to adjust colors, lighting, and sound.
There are on a few problems. The biggest is the problem with humming. When turning the back-light down slightly (even one notch), be prepared to listen to the TV at a higher volume. This sound is somewhat problematic at night in an apartment when others are trying to sleep, only because you want to turn keep the volume down, but if you do you hear the humming. It isn't too loud until you notice it.
The other problems is that on another TV I have, it picks up the channel/show info, e.g. it shows what movie is playing on FX; this is not evident on the Westinghouse - only the channel # is shown. I only have standard/premier cable, if you're wondering.
I haven't ordered HD, yet, and I still haven't connected it to my computer to see how it performs as a monitor for games. I'll repost when the time comes.
Other cons include the in-box components. The remote is basic, the power cord is short (about 5.5 feet), and the stand does not swivel. The swiveling is a problem when your viewing might want to be adjusted based on your seating arrangements.
