"Pretty Good"
on by swimteenPros Good Design and interface
Cons Bad Battery life and external buttons
Summary I am satisfied with this product. I got the Itrip about two months ago when I swaped out my tape deck in my car for a Cd player. I used to use a tape adapter to play my ipod throught the cars stereo, but since I switched it wasn't an option, So I bought the itrip. So far things have been going good, the intial setup time was maybe ten minutes, and that was just plugging it in and finding a good station.
The Good:
It is gorgeous, very good design. It is very light and the interface is decent. The signal strength could be better, but under normal circumstances, it works just fine.
The Bad:
I'm happy with the signal strength because if it were any more powerful then there would be very little battery life. With the way it is now I get 3 maybe 4 hours of battery life with the itrip. Not horrible, but not great either. The other design flaw is that the hold button does not apply to the itrip button, many times have I turned the ipod off, put it in my pocket with the hold button on, and come back 3 hours later to listen to it again and all the battery is gone. If you hit the button on the itrip it turns the ipod on and starts transmitting, zapping the battery. That is its biggest down fall.
Conclusion:
Good Overall product, and if you like the look of I would sya go for it. But buy a compatible car charger with it. It does what I need it to do, and I'm happy with it. -
"I've had better"
on by SAJBrunerPros small size, convenient design, intuitive interface
Cons weak signal, interference galore, have to position it just right, sound quality could be better, leeches off of the iPod's battery
Summary If you have nothing better to go with, this will do the job, but I don't recommend it. I've definitely had better transmitters in the past. Sound quality is not up to par, interference happens often. A plus and minus is that it leeches off of the iPod's battery to work itself. While it does make for a less bulky design, this reduces battery life significantly and definitely won't last for more than a few hours. It has no other means of charging other than a USB to mini USB cable which it can charge the iPod through. The signal is so weak that you acutaully need to position the thing just right to get a decent signal. This can be cumbersome if you have a small and/or messy car. Interference would be so bad I would often find myself passing another motorist on the highway and picking up his or her FM transmitter instead of mine - unacceptable - especially if you have kids in the car and don't want to risk vulgar lyrics. Do yourself a favor and go with something else.

"Don't even think about it!"
on by carl4286Pros Looks pretty nice...
Cons Too many to list... see below
Summary The construction feels cheap, the signal has a range of about 4 feet (less if you hold it), the signal dissapears completely for a few seconds every time you move it or rotate it, and the interface is sloppy. If all that matters is looks, pick this up now. If you actually want to use it, stay as far away from this thing as possible.
