"Looks nice, but no dice" on by MadRobin

Pros: Small compatc unit; fits needly onto sony phones; no need for its own battery; pretty orange lights; flashing light can be turned off

Cons: insufficient signal strenght; silly flashing light has no real purpose; does not work for stated purpose

Summary: At first I thought my unit was defective. My car radios would not pick up a signal, no matter what frequency I chose. (Another brand FM transmitter worked fine in both cars.) Then, I took it inside the house, turned up the volume all the way and placed it next to a top quality FM receiver. The FM set crackled a little, but would not lock onto the signal. Finally, I tried wrapping the FM set's antenna around the MMR-60. That worked, although the sound quality was less than I used to get with the other brand transmitter. As a device for getting music of a cell phone music player, the MMR-60is useless.

It does flash orarge lights when you plug it into your phone. The Sony manual says it sis supposed to pulsate when it makes a connection. I'm curious how an FM transmitter would know that it had connected with an FM receiver.

"Worst electronics product I ever bought." on by gr8fulrauch

Pros: Half a star because I had to. Barely works even when resting against FM antenna.

Cons: Worst product ever, for me.

Summary: Don't buy this product. I didn't heed the warnings and reviews and really wish I had. Shame on Sony Ericcson.

"Works with my phone fine" on by Mike Rios-Belden

Pros: Allows you to play music from your phone on your car stereo!

Cons: Hassle to change radio stations and kills the battery after about an 1 1/2 hrs to 2 hrs use!

Summary: I don't know what the other user's problems are with the device, but mine works just fine (did you by chance buy on ebay and from a chinese vendor? Could be a knock off?...). I've had it for about 2 months and have been using it without much trouble both in the car and at home! I live in Los Angeles, California so you can imagine that there aren't a whole lot dead channels to get good reception on, still when I do find one it works great and as advertised (I ussally keep my W850i, with the fm transmitter plugged in, wedged inbetween my roof and the drivers side visor, if that helps anyone?...)! However like I mentioned above it'll kill your battery after about 2 hours use, so using it on a long road trip is pretty much out of the question. A pass through fast port connection for simultaneously charging the phone and running the unit wold have been great (old promotional photos for the unit online originally showed a pass through port too!... Hmmmm... What happened Sony Ericsson?!?)!... As it stands now, it kind of kills it for me. Also it's kind of complicated to change frequencies. You have to navigate through six sub-menus to get to the screen that'll let you change frequencies, and the place that they've situated it in is awkward to put it mildly! You start with the Menu>Setting>Connectivity>Accesories>MMR-60>Frequency?.... I mean, come on Sony! Try doing that while driving in heavy traffic in a highly populated metropolitan area, and not crashing! Still it does the job for me and is really small without adding too much bulk to my phone (a W850i). Also, it comes in a nice little tin that keeps it safe from harm that I like to keep in in the center armrest between the driver and the passenger side seat of my car, nice! I would be cautious however, if you're planning on buying a newer Sony Ericsson walkman phone, since the fastport connection (the conection for the charger and headphones) seem to be situated on the side of most of the newer slider models, making for some awkward handling i'd imagine...

"Waste of money" on by MGV92115

    Pros: looks pretty

Cons: Doesn't do what it is made to do

Summary: the MMR-60 is a complete waste of money. I set this on TOP of my clock radio, next to the antenna and it barely received the signal.
In the car, it barely worked...with the stereo cranked really high, I received a crackly signal that sounded like a 1940's record playing on a monotone stereo.

Don't bother wasting your money on this...what a disappointment from sony.
