    "Works with my phone fine"

    by Mike Rios-Belden on September 9, 2007

Pros: Allows you to play music from your phone on your car stereo!

Cons: Hassle to change radio stations and kills the battery after about an 1 1/2 hrs to 2 hrs use!

Summary: I don't know what the other user's problems are with the device, but mine works just fine (did you by chance buy on ebay and from a chinese vendor? Could be a knock off?...). I've had it for about 2 months and have been using it without much trouble both in the car and at home! I live in Los Angeles, California so you can imagine that there aren't a whole lot dead channels to get good reception on, still when I do find one it works great and as advertised (I ussally keep my W850i, with the fm transmitter plugged in, wedged inbetween my roof and the drivers side visor, if that helps anyone?...)! However like I mentioned above it'll kill your battery after about 2 hours use, so using it on a long road trip is pretty much out of the question. A pass through fast port connection for simultaneously charging the phone and running the unit wold have been great (old promotional photos for the unit online originally showed a pass through port too!... Hmmmm... What happened Sony Ericsson?!?)!... As it stands now, it kind of kills it for me. Also it's kind of complicated to change frequencies. You have to navigate through six sub-menus to get to the screen that'll let you change frequencies, and the place that they've situated it in is awkward to put it mildly! You start with the Menu>Setting>Connectivity>Accesories>MMR-60>Frequency?.... I mean, come on Sony! Try doing that while driving in heavy traffic in a highly populated metropolitan area, and not crashing! Still it does the job for me and is really small without adding too much bulk to my phone (a W850i). Also, it comes in a nice little tin that keeps it safe from harm that I like to keep in in the center armrest between the driver and the passenger side seat of my car, nice! I would be cautious however, if you're planning on buying a newer Sony Ericsson walkman phone, since the fastport connection (the conection for the charger and headphones) seem to be situated on the side of most of the newer slider models, making for some awkward handling i'd imagine...
