Not everything in today's show is about the "lady parts." That doesn't stop it from being awkward for the gents who might be listening. Not to mention, the gent who helped produce the show.

HELP ME!

I am a desperate husband looking for a worthy present for my wife's upcoming birthday. I’m thinking of getting her a new phone but am pressed to find a smartphone that looks girly enough (no hello kitty, please) and has at least some decent features. What would you girl gurus suggest? I know you girl gurus will help me in my hour of need.

Hey guys, I just HAD to comment on the whole binary thing (after I got done fantasizing about a Kindle 2 with Don’t Panic printed on it with large, friendly letters). One interesting thing is that many central air units actually have multiple speeds that they can run their compressor at (for heating as well as cooling). Ours has two. So, our heater is actually trinary.

Also, Chrome thinks that “trinary” is actually a misspelling of “urinary”.

Hello Gadgettes and Jason,

Not sure if you've covered this yet, but I stumbled upon this page and I thought it would be appropriate for your "What the Hell" segment.

At the time of writing, it seems that the medium size is still available, but the small size is sold out… REALLY?

Keep up the great work,

Hi Gadgettes!

I give you the Mangroomer - for that hairy backed man in your life! (my slogan)

I spotted the Mangroomer (official slogan: Maintain Yourself) in Target earlier today and had a little chuckle. My cellphone pix couldn’t really do it justice so I was hoping there was a Web site. Ah, yes my dreams were answered, complete with neutered male atop a spinning platform.

It bills itself as “The future of men’s grooming.” It’s the essential do-it-yourself electric back shaver, the essential private body shaver (ewwwww!), and the essential nose and ear hair trimmer.

Love the show!

Kathy from San Diego, Calif.

Hi.
So here we have the Action Mobil Globecruiser. It's essentially the end-product of an RV/Grave Digger (famous monster truck) wuzzle.

It's so manly, the front grill even says man, hahahaha. Love it.
And look, in the last picture, its fording a river! Imagine trying to do that in your wagon on the Oregon Trail!!!

For a mere $670,000 and $800 per fill, you too can have a piece this…

Men!!

Have a great week everyone,
Karl

Molly, Kelly, and Ariel,

I just got around to listening to last week's podcast, and I had to chime in on the electric trash can item. I have had a motion sensor activated electric trash can for almost two years now, and I LOVE it. It did not cost me $300 however: it was only $50 at Costco Home. I realize that at this time it is too late for V-day, but you should treat yourself to it anyway.

BTW, my wife loves it more than I do.

Molly was wanting a copy of the Oxford English Dictionary for her Treo. I just wanted to point out that Handmark makes the "Oxford American Desk Dictionary and Thesaurus" on an MMC card which should fit in the SD/MMC slot on the Treo. It works on both Palm OS and Windows Mobile. I don't think they have the Oxford English Dictionary, though.

I’ve just found the ultimate workstation. The Emperor by NovelQuest [ http://www.novelquest.com/emperor.html ]. Its the only workstation worthy of getting the job done if you’re planning on bringing everyone over to the Dark side…

So you guys might consider getting CBS to buy these for all of you — launch is in July, price unannounced.
I so want this it hurts. :(

P.S. Where is that violin piece from “What the hell?” from? I just love it, but the needle scratching and running off ruins it every time! :P

Hey Guys!

In episode 93, you discussed the leisure tub. Its pure awesomeness inevitably brings up the question: What if it becomes self-aware? You’d call it from work and tell it to set the water and change the channel to Oprah, and it responds, “I’m sorry, Kelly, I’m afraid I can’t do that.” And then, when you do get home and get in the tub, it turns the water up to scalding and kills you. Think about that.

--Niko

P.S. Bye Kelly! We miss you!

I noticed that we do not have a Facebook group for the Gadgettes podcast. I asked Jason about it–he said he has too much stuff that he’s busy with, so I created one. So, let all your listeners know: all they have to do is search for “Gadgettes” on Facebook and they should find the group. If you have a Facebook, please join.

Sew your own iPod, laptop case

by Lindsey Turrentine

Standard black laptop cases: boring. Fancy laptop cases: expensive. Sewing your own laptop/iPod case: Probably totally inconvenient, but in the end perhaps rewarding--if, that is, you like bobbins and seam rippers, or even know what they are.

Still not convinced? You probably can't buy a laptop case in crazy tattoo-inspired fabric (see below), but you could make one. And because this is a family friendly-ish blog, you'll have to click through to some of the other, ahem, interesting fabrics you could pick. Of course, sewing your own will require a few hours of precious time and owning a sewing machine. Or maybe, if you're lucky, you could sweet talk a crafty friend into sewing a case for you.

Tattoo fabric from Reprodepot.com

Wouldn't your laptop look fierce in this?

(Credit: Reprodepot.com)

If you do decide to get all crazy creative, Reprodepot.com is selling this Amy Butler pattern, which includes instructions for both laptops (adjustable for most sizes) and some MP3 players (namely: iPod Classic, iPod Touch, iPhone and the Zune).
