  • "More Than Mindless Waggle, But Still Not Convinced"
    on by Styrophoamicus

Pros More accurate than Wii, Sports Champions offers a good evening of fun, has potential to be better farther down the line, can use a Dualshock controller in place of the Nav

Cons Constant calibration, nothing in the launch lineup is a "killer app", PSEye cam has low resolution, initial launch is bordering on shovelware, lack of anything similar to Mii's or Avatars to play as

Summary Despite Sony's edgy, hip approach to the Move, nothing in its initial release sets it apart from being more than just Wii HD. That said, it is more accurate than the Wii and as such the Sports Champions game is slightly more entertaining than Wii Sports (if only because of Gladiator Duels). There is potential in the Move, though, to be much more than just another waggle-wand, but we need to be convinced by more than just sharp advertising.

    on by Po_Panda

    Pros Very accurate
    Very fun
Rechargeable battery (like the DS3 controller)
    Blue Tooth connection
    Gladiator Duel is awesome!
Variety of options to obtain it (wand, bundle, etc.)
Previously released games can be updated via software patch to use with it

Cons Very limited amount of GOOD launch titles
    My arm(s) hurt!
If the room is 'too bright' it can affect the performance (I have not experienced it, but have been warned about the possibility)

Summary First things first. I played with the PS3 Move at PAX 2010 and was not completely impressed with it (Aragon's Quest). However, the concept of playing with a motion controller that utilized HD graphics was too appealing for me to ignore. I am so glad I did not discriminate because of ONE game.

The bundle comes with Sports Champions. ALL the games are fun! BUT the two most addicting games to me were Gladiator Duel (why my arm(s) hurt!) and Archery. I can not even begin to tell you how fun Gladiator is! If you put a whole hearted effort into the games, you will enjoy it to no end. That is the case with all the games I am sure. I even learned some things that the system is capable of doing that you can only learn through trial and error. I can tell you that there is more to the game play than meets 'the eye' (pun intended).

Two nights I picked it up and played, and both nights I played until 4AM. It was that addicting. Thank goodness I have HALO Reach to play while my arms recoup. But I digress...

The disc golf is a good showcase of the capabilities of Move as well.

I am looking forward to seeing how Heavy Rain will work once they patch the game to be used with Move. It will be amazing. I have heard mixed reviews of the RE5 Gold Edition patch, but I don't have that game to judge. Also, Tiger Woods 2011 will be getting (or has gotten) a patch to use with Move too. So I think it is safe to say that a lot of games that already exist can be patched up to utilize Move controllers. Which will be awesome!

If they come out with a Soul Caliber game with Move controllers...I will need arm transplants!

I encourage anyone who wants to try something different and if you have the funds, go for it! I have all 3 current gen consoles and I can honestly say my experience with Move has been better than with the Wii. I will hold judgement on Kinect though. Although I have read a lot of bad things about it in the gaming media and I also wasn't that impressed with it at PAX 2010 either. But hey, I wasn't impressed with PS3 Move there either...

I'm a 40ish year old gamer, I play a lot of games on all consoles, portable handheld systems and PC. I'm having fun with it and I think you will too if you give it a fair shot and immerse yourself in the intent of the experience.

  • "So far so good."
    on by meyer2278

Pros Design, accuracy, and the fact that its just plain fun.

Cons Camera uses a usb port. Not enough games at launch.

Summary While I have read that people are having to recalibrate I have only had to it twice during a game. I have played Wii, a lot, and frankly the Move is better in terms of design, accuracy and the potential of future games is quite exciting. Over time the games will come come out and the fact that the games will keep you moving is the way i find gaming to be most enjoyable. This coming from someone who has been a pretty hardcore gamer for 25 years. The main thing i would like to say is that I have not experienced the calibration problems of other. Your lighting needs to be decent and you need to try and stay where you originally calibrated. The guy who said it's not 1:1 obviously has no idea what that actually means.

I have been thoroughly enjoying it and wait patiently for future games to say if it gets a go or no-go from me personally.

  • "My 8 year old says "Forget the Wii, this is way better""
    on by royaleman

Pros The sport games blow away the Wii games. Much more active than the Wii. If you want your kids to exercise not to just sit there and "flick" it like my son does on the couch with the Wii, get the Move, because you gotta "Move".

Cons None so far. Seems like a lot of updates which take away from play time. And my son keeps jumping on the couch after every point. So I might need a new couch sooner rather than later.

Summary I am divorced dad who got the PS3 last december as part of a Sony TV/PS3 bundle. I tried a couple of games and they were a lot of fun. Sent the Wii to Mom's house. My son is now addicted to the new gaming system. Can't wait for the new Little Big Planet 2 to come out. Holding onto the $25 gift card from Toys R Us that came with our bundle for some better titles. I bought this while it was available early because I have a suspicion that this will be a very hot toy this holiday season in short supply .just like when the Wii came out. My son was so excited. Better than mii's are the ability to use the camera to take "Victory Photos" which you can share on facebook, etc.

  • "Awesome Product"
    on by DOC_DG

Pros Controller is second to none.
Set up is simple as 123
    Graphics are HD
    Fun, and a work out
    Great motion detection
    Real Feel to motion control
    Great Bundle for starters

    Cons Arms hurt haha.
Other than the thin amount of intro games. (Which i knew a head of time)
    NO CONS.

Summary I had a Wii, Wii motion plus. This by far surpasses the Wii, hands down.
If you already have a PS3 i recommend this to you 100% and i am confident you will enjoy it as much as i have.
Cant wait for more games to come out!! I am stoked about this product. GO BUY IT! ENJOY!
