    Pros fun
    exciting
    thrilling
better than any soccer game out there

Cons not alot of unlockable characters
    not alot of regular characters
    too many unlockable stages

    Summary Mario Strikers:

In this awesome soccer game, Mario characters and their helpful team members shoot wildly to score a goal. It is fun, exciting, and better than any soccer game out there. This game has a couple of flaws. First, there are only about 7 or 8 characters to choose from (not including the two unlockables). Secondly, it's not much of a challenge b/c there are only two unlockable characters. Lastly, there are too many unlockable stages which cause confusion (personally).

  • "THIS IS THE BEST SOCCER GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED!! I agree CNET editor got this one wrong..."
    on by kckabob

Pros low learning curve, no fouls, very physical and so much fun!!!

    Cons none so far

Summary This is the best soccer game I've ever played. I bought this game used and play it on my Wii and love it. Essentially it's hockey meets soccer. There is no out of bounds, no offsides, no fouls. You are encouraged to hit your opponents before they have the chance to shoot. With in the first 5 minutes playing this game I was addicted.

Some people have complained about the graphics and I can only comment that on my Wii it has never slowed down even a little. Maybe on gamecube it has some issues but I love it on my Wii.

I promise if you are a mario lover like myself and enjoy mario golf, kart, etc then you will love this game. Next on my list is to find a used mario super baseball. I've also just gotten paper mario but I haven't tried it yet because I'm addicted to mario strikers.

  • "Awesome Game"
    on by NICU28

Pros Lots of fun, cool features

    Cons Limited solo-play modes

Summary There aren't many things you can do as a solo player, but it is an awful lot of fun for a multiplayer game. The game is very similar to the new Mario Kart Double Dash with the power ups and items.

  • "cool game.....good to play with other people"

    Pros fun ...good family game...

    Cons nothing....very good game

  • "Editor is way out there on this one"
    on by nascarlurg

Pros Easy to play learning curve

Cons needs more characters like the juniors

Summary The CNET Editor is totally wrong on this one. This is one of the best Mario games I've played on my sons Gamecube. This game is so fast paced and intense at all skill levels, that it will have a house filled with people screaming with every goal. I thought Baseball was good, but Soccer adds more intense action to the mix. As true to all Mario games, the game skilled average person, can start playing right away with easy to learn moves and controls. I have had no frame rate issues with 98% of the game until we played the Bowser Super Team with robots. For some reason the Robots seem to slow the frames down a bit, but they are not half as enjoyable to play with as the Mario characters anyway, so we dont use them much even though they are now unlocked.

As far as challanging, the Cup tournaments are forgiving and unforgiving at the same time. You can open each tourney with a third place finish in each, but to unlock the Super Cup and some stadiums, you must win 1st place on all three. (mushroom, flower, star)Then its on to the owser Cup!

Now when you win the Bowser Cup as we did, it opens the Super Team and the super cup tournaments. We did not play those yet.

I only wish this game had as many charcters as does the Baseball game. They only have 4 types of sidekicks and I think 9 types of team Captains. This game for sure is a great party game to enjoy for all ages.
