BombLink is another addictive variation on the Tetris/Puyo/Bejeweled-type games. The ongoing challenge is to clear the board of its clutter before the clutter reaches the top. Gameplay is a little different, however, because instead of falling blocks or rising balloons, you're dealing with explosives here. Layers of bombs appear from the bottom of the screen, each with a fuse attached. You move from grenade to grenade, chaining fuses together and linking them to bursts of flame that fall on either side of the ordinance. That's cool.
When the falling flame from either side of the playing board comes into contact with a fuse, the bomb explodes and so do any other connected bombs. Like Puyo and Tetris Cascade, you're rewarded for super combos. Big chain reactions is what this game is about. It's a rare feeling of pride when you string together 25 bombs in a chain on the 5x7 board. The de Havilland Mosquito would be proud.
BombLink can be played in three aptly named modes: "Unlimited" is the familiar "play-until-you-lose mode"; "333Bombs" challenges you to explode 333 bombs for the high score; and "Levels" presents you with ten stages of increasing difficulty.

The keystrokes required are somewhat complicated, and on the small screen, you have to look carefully to see each fuse orientation. The game is only 25K large; there's room for a kicking soundtrack. But, if you like timed puzzle games and explosives, then BombLink will do the trick.
