"This is the best action mobile game I've played to date (Feb. 2007)"
Pros: The Doom we love in a completely new game. It asks if you want the sound on or off when you turn it on. See "opinion" for additional info.
Cons: The primary (if not only) restraint to the game is mobile phone technology. Adjustable levels of difficulty would be nice (to increase replayability), but ID was limited by mobile technology.
Summary: I rate this game a 10 because I believe ID did the best they could with the platform they had to work with. It's addictive fun (when I play too much my hand(s) begin to cramp up, but that's not the game's fault). The more levels you go though, the more challenging it gets, but it's never impossible. It maintains all of the aspects of traditional Doom (weapon upgrades, secrets, demons, keycards, etc.) while adding new ones (more humans, new types of demons, some different weapons) in a completely new game course. Turn-based fighting makes it easier to play on a phone. It's playable with only one hand (though that may be expected of a mobile game). Being on a mobile, there's no autosave, so learn to save often in case you hit the wrong button (I play it on a RAZR, and this is why I navigate with the numeric keypad as opposed to the 4-way navigator key).
