"GPS works well, but battery power adapter is junk"
Pros: Works well with my PC and has been very helpful in areas where I don't know my way around.
Cons: Requires someone to operate it unless you set up voice operation. The battery power pack worked once and then needed repair. It was beyound the warranty so I did the repair myself. Switch is so cheaply made that it has to fail very soon and Delorme doe

It is a great idea, with great software... But it doesn't work.
They created this unit with a cheap on/off switch. Any slight jolt to the unit (going over a bump in the road or walking over rough territory) will cause the switch to move and turn the unit off.
You then have to turn it back on and re-establish communications with you handheld.
This unit worked once for me and then was no longer usable.
When I called Delorme, I was told that since it is out of its 60-day warranty I am SOL (my words.)
So, if you are looking for a quality unit, this one is not it... unless you have the skill to modify the unit yourself.
Oh, I almost forgot? They are willing to exchange the defective unit for a replacement ? at 90 percent of the cost of a new one ? GREAT DEAL!!!
