"One of the best gps for pdas, laptops, and smartphones at this price"
Pros: Compatiility with palm and windows mobile, high sensitivity reciever, very portable, replaceable battery
Cons: Might scratch easily, no AC adaptor (use a USB cable connected to your computer)
Summary: Up to now, I have been using a Garmin GPS V which is a couple of years old and has outdated map data. Instead of buying the new map data, I decided to get the Garmin Mobile 10 deluxe for my Windows Mobile 5 PDA. So far the Mobile 10 has surpassed my expectations because it is actually better than getting a specialized GPS unit.
After charging the 10x receiver using my a USB cable connected to my computer, I was able to easily install the software and I had no issues. Bluetooth pairing between my PDA and the receiver happened very quickly and the connection was not disrupted.
The voice navigation was clear and comes in many different languages. Easy to read prompts are given before each turn. You have three viewing options (3D, North up and Track up) like the current Garmin automotive units. You can further customize it in the settings menu which is easily accessed on the home page.
The Mobile XT program on the PDA also allows you download weather, traffic, fuel prices, and hotel rates nearest to your location. This especially helpful if there is a big accident in the area. In order to access this you are going to have to connect via your cellphone provider or a WiFi access point.
