"The best ultra lite unit"
Summary: If you need to carry it around with you this is probably the best out there. The display is necessarily small with the inherant readability problems but useable if you have the time to stare at it a bit. Someone wrote earlier that it took 2 hours to download 8 meg of maps to it. My experience is that serial downloads are quite fast, a minute or two and therefore believe that he has a serial port problem.

I think the Etrex Legend is great, altough a small backlit display, it does have a zoom in feature, plus with the Mapsource software, it entitles you to a free download from Garmin called Enroute, put it on a laptop and and connect the GPS unit, its a great travel companion giving spoken turn by turn directions placing you within 100 feet of your destination, plus it does recalculate directions for unexpected turns due to construction and accidents.
