"Buy the forerunner and toss the pedometer."
Pros: Gives you all the info you could want and easy to use. Beats re-driving a route to see how far you went.
Cons: Could use longer battery life. I do ultra-walks of up to 24 hrs and don't like to deal with changing batteries while fatigued.
