"Garmin is slipping"
Pros: Ok features and MSN Direct.
Cons: Screen washes out in sunlight and too many bugs.
Summary: I had this for around six months and it was marginal at best, Garmin seem's to have changed their screens because this is as bad as tomtom in direct sunlight it cannot be seen, plus as the other person said it will crash, mine froze up three times on my last trip to south dakota and the reroute is very slow.
The screen is also very unresponsive, I found myself having to tap the screen three and four times before it would ever do anything at all. Garmin told me that this is normal but I also have a 760 and it has none of these problems. I feel that Garmin has made so much on their name that they do not care any longer and do not listen.
Sad because I use to swear by Garmin but now I have purchased my last one, I have moved to Magellan since they have been purchased by Mitech international I feel that they may be on the rebound and the 4700 that I purchased is much better than this 785t plus it has a 4.7 inch screen, much easier to see and use plus the maps and reroutes leave Garmin in the Dust!!!!
Just one last thought Garmin released the Nuvi 880 and six weeks later Discontinued it for no reason, and they will not say why either. Makes you wonder!!! I had the 880 but quickly sold it on E-bay.
