Garmin nuvi 1390T (GPS receiver)

Pros: Speed of calculations, reroutes. Thin and light. Great mount. Perfect lane guidance. Easy to update and to download extras, display is the best I've seen in sunlight, wonderful flat charging cord that lays nice on the dash, traffic reports

Cons: Slightly higher price

Summary: Bought this unit after having multiple TomTom's and recently a Magellan, this is by far the best automotive GPS I've had yet and I can't believe I haven't come to Garmin before. Every fuction is better than TomTom, a manufacturer whose products I still like very much, and years ahead of Magellan, a huge disappointment as far as I can see.

All I can say is try it, you will understand, it's very fast, easy and intuitive. As for the support, I have no idea what some of the other reviews are referring to, Garmin's site is everything one would expect. I had no trouble with updates, maps or downloads.

I am very familiar with Garmin from aviation and can see now why they do so well with the portable units, their quality and ease of use has definitely carried over.
