"Excellent Unit"
on by jdean10306Pros Screen, available software
Cons Memory Size, Arrow key layout
Summary I have had this unti for about 2 years. It has worked perfectly. The only complaints I have are the size of the memory available to upload maps (22MB), and the size of the up arrow key (too small for me), other than that it has been perfect. I am upgrading to the Meridian Color because it can use SD card memory (no 22MB limit). 22MB is enough memory for all of NYC, northern NJ, half of LI and part of lower NY state or all of Southern california.
Megellan has a good product here and I have no problems buying another one of their GPS units.
I have read a lot of reviews about this unit on the internet, some people complain about not being able to read the screen in bright daylight. I have found that like with other LCD screens direct bright daylight will wash-out the picture. Its not a real problem. -
"Nice little unit - display almost usless in daylight"
onPros Lots of features, seems to be accurate. Quality and Reliability rated at 5 only because it is an unknown.
Cons The display. Indoors or at night, backlit display is just fine. In daylight, almost unusable. In fact, terrible. Most disappointing. The screen itself may be prone to scratching easily.
